Followed you here from Instagram. I got my badlands off the lot December 30th 2020. I was lucky as it also had the badlands pkg with leather. The wireless link kit is cool. I’ve had great luck with mine, no breakage other than dropping it in a hole lol and poked a hole in the bumper. I think being an early build they were on top of things. At 6’1 I feel the visor issue. It’s kinda useless lol I see you have a Flex. I traded my 13 Flex Limited on the Sport loved that Flex, it was hard to part with it

I hear that! Flex is a great ride as well. That is about the time I traded the OB for the BL. Thanks for the visit! The BS is definitely a great machine. Even with the small things, Ford pretty much hit the proverbial nail on the head.

I bought my bronco big bend in march 2021 and this car has left me surprised i have no upgrades on it and have been off roading from sedona to flagstaff to the desert and not once did i get stuck,every now and then ill hook up my 12ft boat and go camp at roosevelt lake and its fully loaded and it climbs those trails with ease i wanted to trade it in for the bigger bronco but i might just keep this one for a while.

@@offtheworldlyroad Thanks, man. I can't wait to be behind the wheel. I liked the Big Bend so I'm sure I'll love the Badlands. It's just such a cool little truck and from what I've been seeing on KZbin the off-road capabilities are quite impressive, Thanks again and I'll keep that extra armor in mind.👍

@goochma definitely fun. Get the front bumper armor tho from HRG or Rally Innovations. It’s an easy bolt on self install and will pay for itself first time out. That bottom of the bumper has important things in it ;-). My lift is HRG, but the didn’t have the armor yet or I would have probably opted that way. But, the aluminum one from rally has saved me a couple times.

My Bronco Sport Badlands makes a recurring thumping sound at low speeds. I set an appointment at the dealer. Hopefully, something easy to fix.

That’s a bummer for sure! Thankfully I haven’t had any problems except that one turbo warning leading to limp mode. But that could have totally been a perfect storm of weather, heat and the traffic. It never recurred. I hope they get it fixed for you! Thanks for watching!

There is a service bulletin on that. It's a loose cover plate under the car. Just needs tightening. They are supposed to do it for free.

I've had my current car for 12 years and i put 183k miles on it and am in the market for a decent used vehicle. There is a used 2021 Bronco Sport Badlands for $26k with 60k miles on it. Its on a small list of possible purchases, got any current opinions on it that might sway me either to or away from it?
@offtheworldlyroad13 күн бұрын
I honestly think it’s a great vehicle. The only holdback is clearance. Depending on how comfortable you are modding it, it’s past warranty so…. Any breakage is on you anyway. You can go up to 3in lift with an HRG mod but it has engine mount spacers. Personally I would buy it again. I haven’t hit its limits yet other than clearance. And it’s a good daily too.

I had a 2021 Outer Banks for a month or two. The 1.5 isn’t bad… it isn’t a sports car… but it isn’t bad. Enjoy it. The BS is a nice ride in any trim I think. I took the 1.5 up to flagstaff too. It just climbed up the mountain highways with 6% grade without struggle and without high RPM. It was cooler weather the whole time I had it. But I have had a 4cyl Turbo for years in my stang. It was fine except on the hottest of days.

@@offtheworldlyroad I think it will be more of an adjustment going from sports car speed to regular speed but I need more space for family and friends to ride along if needed

I think you will be presently surprised. It isn’t sports car fast for sure, but what it lacks in speed it makes up in other fun ways. I had the same thoughts… haven’t regretted the switch for one second. I switched from over 25yrs driving ‘Stangs if I didn’t mention that ;-)

I have a 2022 big bend BS and I love it! I primarily use it to go trekking and camping so I use it in the mountains and through some whining roads and have never felt any lack in power. Yes it does not take off but I have never felt lacking. Love this car and love not having terrible gas mileage like the full size Bronco.

Thanks for the idea! I have been living with it. Hunch a bit, sun glasses. :-). It will go on my list of things to check for next year along with lights and such. Also waiting for JCR Off-road armor to go production. So a sun strip may loose out. Haha. My “financial officer” sometimes counts the number of purchases along with price :-)

My radio randomly turns on and I have owned it for a year and just realized the button beside the volume is to change the sound settings. I thought for some reason it was a mute button. Also if you look closely at the screen when it's off you'll see a wear pattern from hitting the play icon. I have started using the physical button between the dials.

@offtheworldlyroad10 ай бұрын
Yeah. Unless you get into some really super gnarly locker type areas. They are all fairly equal. I started with OB, and I rarely need the modes, but I’ve needed sand and rock crawl (or just “locker”) a couple times. I started with an OB actually. It can probably handle like… 95% of the situations out there. Glad you enjoy it! They are great vehicles. Thanks for watching.

I've been considering a bronco for a long time now. I've looked into the big bend and badlands models. I'm just wondering how often do you take your bronco off-road? Do you think the badlands is worth the extra money?
@offtheworldlyroad2 жыл бұрын
That is the real question. Summers out here are rough, and I have only been out a few times since getting the new shoes on her. But now that it is cooling down I will be out more. As far as worth it? I look at cars like I look at computers. Get the best you can afford. It gives you wiggle room when you decide down the road to do more with it and it will stay relevant longer.

Sucks to have turbo problems on a brand new vehicle. I’ if I get one it will be later in production, getting stranded with reliability issues is unacceptable Ford build quality. Obviously you made it home, luckily.
@offtheworldlyroad2 жыл бұрын
Yeah. It was a bit spooky as we were in one of those mountain passes with no turnout. But it hasn’t had any issue since. I accepted there would be first model year issues when I got it. Still happy with it. My dealer is good at taking care of stuff.

Which SUV did you buy and why did you choose it over other options?
@offtheworldlyroad Жыл бұрын
I got a Badlands edition Bronco Sport. There are a few reasons: * I wanted to get off-road where it’s rough, but not climb cliffs and boulders. * I wanted reliability * I wanted to keep same or better gas mileage as it would be a daily * I wanted something intended for more than two people * price needed to be right The sport fit all these bills. With the ability to “lock in” 4x4 and the rear diff, I would get a lot of utility off-road. Same for the suspension. A lot of our off-road has stretches of rough, I maintained dirt and sand tracks. The high speed off-roading capability of the suspension is spot on for that. I’ve driven Fords for years (mustangs since 93) and so have my farmer friends and family (F-choose your number). We never really have any issues there. It gets as good as my 2015 stang did on gas. My family fits comfortably. It gets up and goes great (plenty of power on the freeway). It looks good and was the right price. I watched a lot of real world comparisons online for months and the sport just edged out others in its class every time… sometimes drastically. I haven’t been disappointed. I haven’t found it’s limit yet (clearance is the Achilles Heel). I’ve done some pretty good obstacles some of my keep friends are Leary of. So… I’m happy.

I have so used that in the 3cyl. In the 4… when I set the cruise it pretty much holds up to about 3-4 grade. At 65-70. Tap the breaks a bit, but not much at all. It’s good at it in normal mode or eco all by itself.

Thank you for using a non-CLICK BAIT title. I just dinged a guy that said, Five things I hate......CLCIK BAIT! It sounds like you are happy with your BS BL I have a couple of suggestions to improve your videos. Skip the music in your intro. Unnecessary music is a real turn-off for me. Were you using a clip- on mic? Your sound was a little draggy. Lastly, having the inside of your dwelling as a backdrop for your narration detracted from your message about your BS BL. I kept thinking about your boringly spartan interior decor. Better, maybe stay seated in your BS, or set up shop outdoors with some of your beautiful N. Arizona scenery as a backdrop.

Thanks for the feedback! It’s a lot along the lines of what I am wanting to fix. A bit of rearranging, some lighting changes… I’ve also gotten rid of bumpers altogether lately. Trying that out. In the car, definitely didn’t have a mic yet. I do have a lav now. Thank you for the great feedback! As far as happy, yup. The BS is a sweet ride on and off the road. I just gotta learn not to break it before I break something vital haha.

@offtheworldlyroad I should clarify. I am not criticizing you. I was interested in the Bronco Sport, but found the things I listed to be true. Have you experienced any recalls? I see you have experienced some of the quality issues with the interior. Those may seem small, but the big price Ford commands for their vehicles makes their quality issues bigger in my eyes.
@offtheworldlyroad7 ай бұрын
@bartholomew60 I haven’t had any recall on mine, but it is a badlands. There were a few recalls as there would be on any new platform, but it was the lower models. As for interior, I haven’t had much to say other than those gooofy sun visors. They need a better shape so they don’t hang up trying to push them forward. I’m too tall for them. Maybe a bit of wear on the door window controls, but we have 120f temps. After three years of that… but I hear ya. Just to me, I’m fine with those as small issues. Been totally happy otherwise with performance and quality. Across the rest of the board.
