corrections.... there are a FEW different companies that will flash the ECU...EX: BrenTune and Alpha Racing.. and sending in the ECU is a common thing amongst sport bikes... or you can get a flash done at most motorcycle shops that have dynos... and you can get a 520 kit for the Forged Wheels....

when your bmw gets hot after a quick run or 3 ... when you pull over to rest up keep your bike idling too cool radiator down or a lot of antifreeze will boil over & out cuz your engine can’t cool off if motor is off...unless park for the night . If bike is idling your fans will cool down antifreeze fluid as fluid keeps flowing thru cooling system . And always - always - always pre-trip and post your cycles , you’ll be surprised what you may find at the start or end of riding , I was !

This is pretty common place among any brand make these days. BMW just make its more pronounced in terms of saying if you modify it and something factory breaks because of your mods, you eat it. Besides, BMW's are already stupid fast and there isn't many places to let one rip beside the race track. I own a K1300s Anniversary Edition and other than removing the baffle to make it bark more, it's all stock. Stay with your Japanese if you like mods.

The drive by wire throttles were a bit of a pain on the older models upto 2014 and the HP4's that were around at that time. The 2015+ models, especially in Race or Slick/User mode, ride pretty much just like an old school throttle with a cable. Very light and easy to ride. Even in the other modes, the throttle is always crisp and responsive.

@Swampster707 жыл бұрын
Mine (2016) runs peachy and I live not too far away from Hell, sorry, Sacramento where it gets as hot as hell. All modern 1000cc supersports bikes run hot. You can't produce around 200hp from a 1 liter engine and have it run cool. If your bike is running rough or overly hot then there's something else going on.
@MADLITS1K3 жыл бұрын
@@Swampster70 ecu flahses don’t magically make bikes run cooler either lol they turn the fan on earlier that’s about it .. but yeah this entire video i realized this guy has no idea what he’s talking about lmao
@Swampster703 жыл бұрын
@@MADLITS1K I know that - which is why I said what I did 3 years ago. A stock S1000RR will run fine on 122F days - I know that because I've ridden in those temps. When you live in the Sacramento Valley, 100+F days are common during summer. I've ridden over Ebbetts Pass (west side from Markleeville) on a 105F day - the climb starts at 5,500ft and tops out at 8,700ft and there's lots of technical switchbacks with roads so narrow there are no center markings. Max gradients are over 15% and that's after 3 hours of riding to get there. My bike runs fine even in those very steep, 1st and 2nd gear roads where anything over 70mph is suicidal. There's not much airflow to keep the bike cool. When it gets hot up there it's just like you're standing over an oven door when you're opening it. When I get down to Hermitt's Valley I have to get off before my right ankle cooks itself inside my Alpinestars' boot. The bike at this point runs fine - my right ankle is cooked just short of needing some BBQ sauce. That said, on my bicycle I do descend the same roads in the other direction at 60mph in lycra ;) I know those roads well. If there is a God, Hwy 4 up there is his highway.

Why can't you put a 520 chain on it I've never heard of that before
@D2Rides7 жыл бұрын
FastLuck BC there foraged wheels and I've looked at the venders the shop had and call around and no one back a 520 rear yet
@Swampster707 жыл бұрын
The real question is why would you want to do a 520 conversion? You 'gain' about 1hp for a chain that isn't as resistant to dirt and gunk. That 1hp gain is for a clean chain and when I say clean, I'm talking about the internals, not the outside part that's easy to clean with a cleaner. Once the rollers on a chain get dirty then you lose more than you ever gained with the 520 and cleaning the inside of a chain isn't something you can do with just a spray. Changing chains on a bike that almost has 200hp to try and gain 1 hp is a bit like putting on lower gearing when you don't red line the bike whenever you ride it. It's just silly and a waste of cash for performance but if you want to do it to get a different look, then fine I guess. If you can ride the bike like Troy Corser when he's on a mission, then by all means try and eek that 1/10th of a second, otherwise, keep the bike stock and run it over 12,000rpm at full throttle more often. The stock regina zrp 525 chain is more than good enough.

Get the Premium package and love life in Rain Mode and enjoy the clutchless shifting with the quickshifter - there'll be enough going on when you first start that not having to faff around with the clutch/throttle/gears and brakes when slowing to a stop will allow you to concentrate on 'real world issues' like not falling off or crashing into things. Rain Mode also makes it pretty much impossible to brake to hard and get the back wheel off the ground and limits the acceleration in the first couple of gears to reduce the "whooooooooooooaaaaaa fffffffff****************kkkkkkkkk" factor the first time you accidentally twist the throttle too hard. If you're new to riding, keep it in Rain Mode and keep the RPM's under 7,000 for a long time. Trust me, even if you own a Vette or something with four wheels that fairly quick, you'll be more than surprised at how fast the bike accelerates even in the 'slowest mode.' I've been riding since about the time when Moses parted the waters and I pop the bike in Rain Mode for commuting on the freeway. Find a good 2+ day course and go learn the basics. Make sure the course includes learning how to countersteer. Buy your gear (helmet, boots, jacket, gloves) or at least factor in the cost, before buying a bike, no matter what that bike is. You can fall off a little 300cc sports bike and really cause some serious injuries just riding around town.
