One day, I hope to purchase a brand new s1000rr. I just purchased my first liter bike. An 08 R1 with only 2176 mi. Had to jump on that deal. Traded in my 06 636 for 4k trade value and paid $3500 cash on top but i think it was worth it for a pretty much brand new barely ridden bike. Also dealer gave me brand new Q3s with the purchase.

Engine oil and transmission oil are the same thing on this bike as they are shared. As long as you use the correct motor oil and filter it won't affect your warranty to change it yourself. I find the oil changes on my S1000rr to be very easy to do unlike some other bikes. I only had the break in service done at dealer and did everything else myself. Love the Taylor made exhaust, I might get it as well.

I recommend getting those immediately. Hope you are still riding the 1299

I think you should put the year of your bike in the description. There were a lot of changes between the 2014 and now old 2015 model. The quickshifter works great on the 2015+ models, the seat is comfortable and it's a generally better bike to ride than the 2014. When I watched this video and then saw your username, I first thought you were doing this because you wanted to rag on the BMW because you were a Honda guy.
@TheDucatiPilot
@TheDucatiPilot 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the detailed and helpful comment Swampster. I really appreciate when you guys leave constructive feedback to help my channel improve. The quick-shifter on the 2014 works only in up mode, but on 2015+, it works up and down. I never sat on a 2015+ seat, but I take your word that it is more comfortable. Haha, I never rag on the S1000RR. It was my baby and I still miss it. I don't regret buying a 1299 Panigale though. Also, I've kept the Honda all through the years. Cheers!

FirebladePilot I love the look and the legend of Ducati's but the reality is that even from back in the days of the 851 and 888, I never found them a comfortable bike to ride for more than a couple of hours. Back then I was a Yamaha guy and loved my FZR1000-EXUP. It was as quick as the 888 but rideable for hours. Fast foward 20 years, compared to the rest of the supersports bikes I find S1000RR comfortable and very easy to ride. I like your videos with the couple of caveats I mentioned. Remember that someone 5 years from now will look at this already outdated video and think that it's about the current model. Put the model year in the title and mention it in the video but otherwise it's all good. Ride, have fun, keep the rubber on the road and your ass off it! Helmet, gloves, jacket, pants, boots and 13,000 rpm full gas in 1st.
@TheDucatiPilot
@TheDucatiPilot 5 жыл бұрын
I agree with you on the fact that Ducatis are not comfortable. I can only ride my 1299 for about 45-1hr before my back hurts and I need a break. Same goes for the tremendous heat that the bike puts out. I have gotten used to these "issues" riding the bike over the last 10 months or so. I love the power and the looks, thats what keeps that bike in my garage. Thanks for watching my vids. I always appreaciate viewers of my Channel. Ride safe my Friend!

I have done a "Things you must know video" on the CBR and a long term review, just search through my older vids. To compare the 2 bikes...well the CBR was a smooth ride, but the S1000RR was an acceleration BEAST! It was so quick off the line. I actually miss the BMW.
