Things you should know before buying a Cupra!

I've had a Cupra R 310 so the hatchback nr 497/799 and dam I loved so much, sold it for about 1,5 mounth ago and boy do I miss it. Cupras are sooo underrated and the R is on another level compared to its rivals. And I would still buy a normal cupra over a golf R or a S3 just so much more joy driving them.

@@ДмитроОвчарук-й8ш Well... i drive a fu*king volvo xc40 now😂, only because I got it from the job I took so I get a brand new car which I can drive at work and off work for very cheap... and I don't have to pay anything for service or tires and if something breaks. But I will probably buy another cupra r if I get a new job again in the future or a BMW m2.

Only downside to the SEAT Leons / Cupras is that the heating elements for the windscreen are terrible!

Pretty sure folding mirrors when you lock/unlocked the car can be coded in? Ive got a mk2 Leon and ive been able to code the folding mirrors on lock/unlock

If you hold your finger longer in the door handle lock button it will fold the mirrors. Its very good in my opinion. If you dont want the mirrors to be folded every time (in winter time specially)

Bro had it for a year and didn’t go into the menu to turn on folding mirrors, what else do you expect😅what was he doing in that time? Seriously great cars, I’m soon to have 2 Cupras now they are so good. Might do a review myself, especially considering one of them is hardly reviewed in facelift now.

If you hold the lock button on your FOB key, the mirrors will fold automatically.

I got a 2018 cupra 300. Had it for over a year now. Probably the best year for them. Get the digital dash as standard similar to the facelift 290 but sound way better since its the final year for pre gpf

@johnboy2436 any plate from 68 onwards (facelift 290) has a gpf. visually these have copper emblems black brake calipers and a copper centre hub logo on the wheel. And interior has a 7 speed dsg over the 6 speed

@@Insettathanks mate, so is the 7 speed not worth it then in terms of economy? does that extra gear mate a difference? seems ill be trading off the non gpf and MPI. so 2018 plate is the best to get? also in terms of mapping the non gpf is better right? does it getting a little higher figures on stage 1?

@johnboy2436 7 speed will give marginally better mpg on the motorway. Not so much difference in city driving. I've topped out at 42mpg on a run of country roads which is good for a 300hp car. Yes the non gpfs have a higher tuning potential if u go beyond stage 2. Stage 1 will be the same. Around 360hp. Also the 7 speed needs to be serviced every 80k vs the 6 speed which is every 40k

@@Osajunior90 after i modified it the way i like it, im more then obsessed with this car. u got everything u need (in my case ... because it got all u can get). Specialy by its price it is awesome compared to Golf. Only thing u will NOT like is the stock exhaust, its boring and silent!

Had my Cupra SC 280 Black Pack with Leather n Sound Pack from new since 2015; done 92k with no problems. This is my 4th Cupra and my favorite to date. Not a squeak or rattle and have averaged around 35mpg. Just love it

copper badges only came in the restyling 290 version, as a way of saying "goodbye" to Cupra as a performance model right before Cupra was made a independent brand

Can you help my cupra cigarette lighter is not working can’t find the fuse box inside the car other than the engine fuse box . My dash camera is plugged in into the cig socket and it’s stop working I’ve changed the lead still nothing so I take it’s the fuse?

If your car is RHD the fuse box is behind the glove box. Usually you need to remove a flat plastic panel where the passenger door meets the dash to access a clip to drop down the glovebox further.
