I have a 2020 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid. I was surprised at how big the car was but I had trouble getting myself into the driver's seat b/c low roof, Much easier for me now though. I get 40mpg in town 55 hwy and I don't worry about plugging in.

I think the price increase is a huge mistake by Genesis. People pay that kind of money for status and even in 2023, as far as Genesis has come in the luxury world, they're still not at the point where I think they can justify charging $120+ for their flagship car. I love the car myself and it's really the only true luxury car left on the road. The rest are basically sports sedans with tech and leather seats, because that's what 16 year olds and people in midlife crisis want. That's the luxury market. Rich kids and even richer 40somethings who want to relive their glory days while driving a "luxury brand." I think they'll lose a sales, even though Genesis is winning awards all over the place. We're not at the point yet where Genesis is considered a status symbol, and for $120 grand, that's what people are looking for. If you're not getting that, a Chrysler 300 at $70,000 is more than adequate. I drove a 2008 with the Hemi and AWD. It was the most comfortable new car I ever owned, and I ordered an E63S to spec. As good as this car is, at this price point, people want a badge that others recognize. Most people don't spend that much to not have people say "hey, look at me." They're trying to create the impression with the price tag that they're big league now, and even though I think they were in the conversation a few years ago, most people, if they even know what a Genesis is, still associate it with a Hyundai, and you're not justifying that price increase doing that. It would be like Honda or Toyota producing a luxury car in the 70s for the North American market. People would have laughed hysterically. Lexus didn't just become a top luxury brand overnight. On the flip side, Genesis might be the one true luxury brand left on the road. Everyone else is going sporty and developing cars with stiffer suspensions and sportier, harder seats that make your chiropractor laugh maniacally while you're popping painkillers, especially as you get older. Great car, but pump the brakes on the price increase. It's still associated with Hyundai, or people don't know what it is at all, and unless your emblem screams status to the mainstream upscale car buyer, if they can afford a 6 figure car, they'll get something with name recognition. I would think Lexus loves this, because I'm pretty sure most people would choose a Lexus over a Genesis, for better or for worse, simply because of name recognition.

I agree with you! Audi and BMW are on the same path too! These cars are made to be sold in the US and China! Genesis is making top quality interiors and the design is great, except these huge grills! When I remember the first Hyundai they were selling in the 80 and what they make now! Huge improvement! The G90 would be a nice fit for my garage!😀
