This talk centering on connecting with our customer in a way that makes us brand evangelists is nothing new..Been hearing the same points driven across by various thought leaders..I guess by now most of us know this..the crucial step is how do we implement it..how do we breathe this into every aspect of our marketing philosophy and bring about a change in our strategy...Sasha Strauss way of delivering the speech is compelling ..Hats off ! :)

Hey Sasha ... great speech! I will say that my faith is the only thing that has never let me down though.
@lineaist10 жыл бұрын
Dear Scott, I feel privileged to address this all-important topic of faith in a discussion around Sasha Strauss's passionate presentation on branding. Faith and Brand may be my two greatest passions! Brands can fail. For example the brand "Moo01100" in the thread above. We expect to have people and the personal 'brands' they represent guide us into a better way of interacting and building that 'brand' equity. Humans are built to fail, like a anyone in a church or faith community not meeting expectations. (Like me judging Moo01100!) But belief in something greater than us, (which is unknown and therefore called faith) will not fail, as it's promised to us. The promises to the tribe of Israel through Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (all flawed humans like you and me), are now given to all of us through Jesus, Yeshua, or even Melchizedek if you want to draw that conclusion. There is a God above us who has made promises that will never fail. If your logical reasoning alarm bells are going off right now, I understand! 1 Corinthians 1:23 reinforces your reaction, as Christ's crucifixion and resurrection were, and are, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to followers of Greek logic. To draw the connection between branding and faith, it's unfortunate that the brand of the Christian church does not always match up to God's promises. If we become brand ambassadors for what we believe in, our brands will only fail when we fail to come to their defence. Kudos to Sasha on how he handled negative feedback above. We all do the best we can, Sasha! Amen ;)

I truly enjoyed what professor Strauss had to say, which I found articulate, well pondered, insightful and engaging. (Wisdom Sidebar) When I read the comments of Moo01100 which appeared first in the ranking of comments for some Google reasoning, it reminded me of the mindless and useless contributions that seems to be ripe across Yelp and other such internet shouting places…No insight, just base language, anger and hubris. For me, professor Strauss touches deeply on beliefs and the related impact with so many institutions where trust no longer exists - this is a pervasive downward trend in the American culture - made bankrupt by many parts of the culture. I especially like his searching for understanding and awareness about how to operate in this new-normal circumstances. He gives good reasons for us to believe in something…hitting a sweet spot for me. Thank you professor.

It was awesome, until he used the magnetic north example. FYI magnetic north means that the compass is attracted the south magnetic pole. A better explanation is, that the compass points north, but what it really does is, it points to the pole that attracts the north polarity of the compass. Remember different magnetic forces are attracted. So the compass pointing north is actually pointing to the south magnetic pole...
