Thanks for sharing this! As a student it is good to see what can be expected in the real world. You raise an interesting point about not limiting these skills to the conference room. How many times have we been cut off in normal day-to-day discussions when we weren't even done getting to the point? If you're like me, it happens often; it's frustrating and can actually lead to losing the train of thought all together. Connector phrases like, "and here's why..." are great place holders in the flow of conversation. It signals to the listener in a polite manner that you're not done speaking. I'll definitely be binge watching your videos today in between work and studies! Great video! Thanks again!

This is the best video I’ve viewed so far! Thank you Kara for the useful tips in relation to think fast talk smart! I can’t wait to see what your future videos will be about! A suggestion from me would be “how to build your brand at work by showcasing your contribution to the team and business”. Personally, I contribute a lot but I tend to make my work look simple and easy to do yet hardly anyone at work been able to do what I did.

hi Kara. All your videos have been so helpful. I relate so much especially to this video, and the part about holding back due to overthinking about what other people think. I struggle so much due to this, even during general conversations. Could you perhaps do a video on how to not worry about what other people think in midst of conversation? I tend to do it subconsciously

Thank you for such great tips and for the awesome examples. To see actual examples is so crucial! And thank you for connecting them all so beautifully and showing how they all depend on each other. You presented them in a way where I didn’t have to rewatch, because you explained each tip perfectly and reminded me of them along the way. I love this video, and it’s so much better than videos that just name the tips. Thanks so much, and wish me luck talking! 🙈

Stop Worrying About What Others Think: Self-doubt and worry about others' opinions can hinder your ability to speak quickly and intelligently. This can trigger a fight-or-flight response, which diverts resources away from cognitive thinking and communication. Get Straight to the Point: Avoid confusing or boring your audience by circling around the topic. Identify your main point before you start speaking and get to it quickly. Handling Unexpected Questions: When asked a question you're not sure how to answer, pause, acknowledge the question, repeat it, and then share your honest thoughts and opinions. Use Intriguing Connectors: Connectors are phrases that link your main point to your explanation or elaboration. They keep your audience engaged and interested in what you're going to say next. Examples include "Here's why...", "I'll tell you what that would look like...", and "There are three reasons why I believe that...". Highlight the Number of Points: Clarify in your mind and for your audience the number of points you're going to discuss. This helps you talk faster and smarter on the spot and helps your listener to follow you better.

You are not alone..... really, you aren't.......I'm not quite there, but I will be and so will YOU. It actually has nothing to do with the present. Go back to how you were raised or talked to when you were in school. When you find that ONE place, that ONE person that made you feel insecure then you have answered your question. Good luck, it took me a mere 30 years.......God bless you.
