I bought some basil from M&S 2 weeks ago and forgot about it. It's still good. M&S fruit and veg is unsurpassed in quality. Their bagged salad lasts over a week.

Ikr, I even tried Aldi’s Four Cheese & Tomato pizza, which is from their more posh range, it was more like what I’d want for a normal level of cheese topping on any frozen pizza, but still too blummin sweet for my taste buds. Well there’s always Morrison’s fresh made ones, 3x the price but worth it.

It had cheese, mozzarella, which doesn't have a strong "cheesy" flavour like cheddar. It did exactly what it promised on the packet.

Went to Chicago a few years ago, and went to the famous restaurant and had a Chicago pizza pie. Sorry was not impressed at all, but had one in Indianapolis and that was brilliant. Love your reviews, so good….

It's a lot cheaper loading that pizza with tomato puree than with cheese. Could taste better with extra cheese grated on top. My go to pizza is Lidl's Margherita thin base pizza. I put my own toppings on.

There was a Chicago Pizza Pie Factory restaurant in Hanover Square, London, back in the 80s. Don't think it's still there but it was really good. Best pizzas for miles.

Excellent Review of this Lidl Chicago Pizza 🙌👌💯🔥😋 I had noticed this and had wanted to try it but freezer room was a push. Glad you reviewed it. Authentic chicagi is oozing out with cheese,like a river- they also top it with a dusting of parmigiana. I reckon France as below the fr code said La Rochelle,so I’m guessing that this is French.

Thank you for your honesty Gareth, I too like lots of cheese on my pizza, especially deep dish, that looked a tad bland for my liking. Have you ever thought about doing desserts or cake reactions, just a thought. Czechoslovakia hasn't existed since 1992 Gareth. 🤣😂. Also the CE on products means Conformite Europeenne (European Conformity).

Have you tried the Chicken Shawarma from Aldi? I had it last night and it was AMAZING! 25 mins in oven, mix with the included tzatziki after shredding and serve on greek style flatbread with salad 😍

I buy the cheapest pizza from Sainsbury's and add pepperoni or ham, cheese & etc to make it a lot more palatable. Is a lot cheaper than buying a more expensive pizza in the first place.

Yes I think there are maybe better options out there, but supermarket have to keep trying these things to snatch points of the competitors. A little bit of quality at a decent price and availability (still not found the Lamb and mint bake at my local Aldi) would help them along far better than the gimmicks.

You don't have to go all the way to the U.S. for a decent Chicago style pizza. American Pizza Slice on Bold Street, Liverpool and Upper Bridge Street, Chester sell them by the slice, along with New York and Detroit Style pizzas slices. Can either eat in or takeaway, and they have a few different deals and flavours to choose from. One of mine and my wife's favourite pizza places.

I was in my local Lidl last night and I was looking for that toastie thing which had your head over the bin - thankfully they didn't have any so I wasn't tempted to buy one. :) They had a load of that MCKENNEDY stuff but to be honest I didn't like the look of any of them. Plenty of other stuff Lidl do for £2 - £2.50 which are pretty good and good value.

Mozzarella is for kids, with their hyper-sensitive sensory apparatus. For us grey-hairs it definitely needs to be a sharper cheese, not that near flavorless stuff.

I had this before and wasn't impressed, way to sweet for me. If you want to try something a bit different from Lidl try the Vistasia range that is in from 23rd May 2024. Also The Spice Company that's stocked by B&M has new Airfry seasonings. The Chip & Potato Seasoning is something I think you may like.

CE = European Standard :) Looking at the ingredients looks OK - at least no palm oil or shite. .... but for the price, I'm not expecting a lot. Now you mentioned it was sweet and mentioned sugar... but according to the ingredients there is no added sugar... so it's all from the tomatoes :) To be fair, the ingedients listed for 'cheese' was quite high, but mozzerella is quite mild, and I noticed the other cheese (hard) was only 4%. I would have anyway put more cheese on top like cheddar and parmaggio mix.... just for the flavour. So yea, they skimped on the tasty cheese but gave plenty of the stringy mild stuff. Overall though didn't look too bad.

The best we’ve found to use as a base for this is the chilled Aldi margherita. Not bad allocation of cheese and the base crisps nicely. Will take several extra toppings then bung more cheese on top to finish

I like tomato but I think that's too much tomato for me I would have to add extra cheese and maybe some pepperoni. I don't shop at Lidl very often as I prefer Aldi so I don't think I will be making a special journey. Thanks for the review though it's good to know what's out there

thats not a pizza thats a open top pie... were having a break in lincolnshire and we found a great farm shop, the reason im mentioning it as i havent seen you make a video about 'Haslet' i love a good haslet and tomato sandwich... well this place had a great range of meats and other produce and i got a loaf of haslet... highly recommend it... Grasmere farm shop... well worth the £50 fuel getting to lincoln and paying the £5 or £6 for the loaf... also other meat produce we got... oh and the scotch eggs... properly done...
