Just my 2 cents but I would cut the floor around the uprights so the edge is on the framework and make narrower. Also maybe make the floor in sections that can be removed to access areas without removing the frame.

came here to say the same thing would notch the floor around the uprights will also give more steal on the edge for the floor and look cleaner.

Burn down/crew protection sprinklers around the back axles to protect the air lines in worth it too, gives you the best chance of driving away from a bad situation

Make sure that it's still legal to be on the road in regard to the overall width of the vehicle.

A kick board around the crew platform could be sweet too, just 80mm or so so that when you're in the thick of it, you can feel where the edge of the platform is through your boots!

Don't forget to think about the water curtain when you're deciding where to put the raised air intake, and the snorkel to cover the radiator. :)

I made a frog mouth sprinkler out of galvanised threaded 2" gal fittings to thread to camlocks and a bit of gal sheet on top as the deflector. Uses a heap of water, only need the engine idling, but being a mild steel deflector i was able to tap the clearance of the deflector down to fine tune the output right down for what was needed as a dust sprinkler. Would work a treat for what you want it for, once set you would leave it b id imagine.

Always hard to get it all right. After you use it for the first time you’ll change a lot of things probably. The way things are today DEFS will probably see it and say you can’t go to a fire with it because its not compliant.

When you cut the holes in the tank make 6 inch by 6inc holes at the bottom of the tank as if you make more holes it could cause sloshing when your driving

Can you mount the cannon to the cab roof of the truck to be able to spray both sides and some added crew protection when fully opened up

The plate the cannon was on way not make a box so the cannon can sit on so is just above the bonnet then you can spay both sides

Frog mouths are a good spray but they use a shit load of water and even 11,000 litres won't last long

I agree it will use a lot of water quickly, but that is sort of the point as you want to protect the crew with what ever you can. A burn over can last a few seconds to a couple minutes so hopefully using them will work long enough to save the life of the crew. They are also adjustable with the spray patterns so can neck it right down so that its not just flooding out!
