Horses compete for resources. That's studied and scientifically proven. Feeding them like that is setting them up for failure. It would be better to feed them separately (allow more feeding stations/resources) to set them up for success and eliminate any chance of displacement from one horse to another.

@@ThinkLikeAHorse Thank you for acknowledging that I am a horse expert. And as one, you should consider taking my advice, or at least not dismissing it until you have looked into it for yourself. You do not know everything, and in this case YOU are the wrong one. A smart person is open minded and willing to make things better for their horses. It's a shame you are not.

@@equestrianna13 In the wild, yes, they compete for resources. In captivity, they have no need to compete for it! Also, Buddy and Mr. T always ate together and were peacefully coexistent. If they are so competitive over resources, why do they graze together? Why does Buddy not push Ransom into a corner with no grass? I doubt you even own a horse. Let alone two.

Oh my goodness, love these videos Rick! Brings me much comfort at this time..... I lost both my parents to Covid-19, my father on August 28, my mother August 31. Married 71 years. I had a feeling it would go down like this, they were literally inseparable. We never told mom while she was fighting in hospital that daddy had passed. She knew.....then decided to refuse her meds and pulling-out her IV. She was DNR just like daddy. We opted for morphine & oxygen. They both lived an amazing life, mom was 92, dad was 90. You can never over-tell someone how much you love them 💕 God bless all of us 🙏❤️

Stopped for dinner on our way home at one of our favorite places, brought most of mine home, was delicious but I've been having ongoing trouble with my stomach so the part of my meal I ate was just a brief loan. It sure will! I love that too Kmom! It's so darn cute!! I wonder if maybe Buddy has done his little bucking Buddy show since good Ole Mr. T, but maybe Rick just hasn't had the camera on him at the time. Be sad to think Buddy lost his buck along with his friend and mentor. Poor Ransome tho, he looked like he's having pain in his leg or foot.

@@donc9751 I second everything you say here. I wondered about whether or not he has felt like himself, since losing his beloved companion. I noticed Ransom was tender footed coming out after licking the salt block. I still think he has a better quality of life, even if he is in pain, he it’s probably better off there than where he was before. Not to say that his owners didn’t take good care of him, just that they don’t have the same environment and an extra horse like Rick does.

These are really the only vids I like. I don't have horses, never will, and I don't care about other peoples vids you review. I just really enjoy being "invited" to your pasture to check in on you and your horses and learn a few things about horses this way. Been with you since Cali.... Texas was great move for you, Tanner, and Buddy. Tanner for sure lived his best life with you. And on the "police" topic.... People forget that "no taxation without representation" also meant Americans were being taxed to be "policed" and had no say in how that happened. It was NOT taxes about goods that set off the revolution, it was taxes supporting tyranical redcoats. The truth of it, historically, was it was the redcoats policing the colonists that set off the revolution. That just is not taught clearly in schools. And for the record, our modern police are far more tyranical than the actions of the redcoats that set off revolution. All could just be fixed with accountability. Much love and thanks Rick.

It's not too bad on my walks as your warm whilst moving so I'm still doing my 5 miles a day, good exercise, the boys are looking great as usual, I've decided when I pop off I'm coming back as an animal lol, anyhow sir you have a nice day with your boys and thank you so much for sharing and of course all you do, I really don't know what I'd do without you, you bring the sunshine into my life, Thank you, sending hugs to you and your very gorgeous boys from the UK xxxxx.

Loved the video, Rick. I love watching my boys when they are eating their kibble. It's really cute seeing how Arrow shares everything with Finley. Stewey the Bunny sure makes me miss my bunny rescues. They were dumped at our local pond, at seperate times. Solo, my little Dutch dwarf bunny had the most wonderful personality, I was only able to save him, his brothers and sisters and parents all got caught by dogs or eagles. I was lucky with Solo, he was only about 3 weeks old when I rescued him, I was able to scoop him up and bring him home. Unfortunately I had both my dogs with me so I could only bring Solie home, I didn't have enough arms to grab his brothers and sisters. Nikita, my second bunny rescue, a lop eared bunny was dumped and forced to live alone for about 5 months, she was skin and bones when I rescued her. I was able to rescue her before winter set in. Solo and Kita became my house bunnies, after I got them both spayed and neutered. It didn't take them long to become litter trained and the bunnies slept with my black lab, Maddie in her dog bed in my room every night. Sometimes Solie would jump into bed with me and sleep on my pillow. Kita loved my Grandpa and was always sitting in his chair with him, or curled up sound asleep with my kitty. My kitty and the bunnies were inseparable, it was pretty neat watching them all play together. I set up a large outdoor run for the bunnies so they could spend a few hours every day outside in the summer and spring, and they bonded with our neighborhood deer. I'll never have bunnies again, however. They both lived for about 9 years, but when I lost them I was devastated. Plus both of my pups have a pretty high prey drive and I refuse to keep bunnies in an outdoor pen 24/7 or in an indoor cage, that's like putting them in jail to me. I won't subject bunnies to two goofy pups that could make the bunnies miserable. Both my bunnies had run of the house, they were my family ❤ Much love to you and your furry munchkins. My boys and my pups all say neigh/woof!! Have a great weekend 😀

Rick, You can make the spinach last longer by putting a double layer of paper towels at the bottom of a plastic container. Spread out half of the spinach on the towels. Place a double layer of paper towels on top of the spinach and layer the rest of the spinach on top of the paper towels. Top the 2nd layer of spinach with another double layer of paper towels and cover with the container lid. This should double or triple the "life" of the spinach.

Tip for keeping your spinach fresh (this really works!). Place a dry paper towel in the bottom of an airtight container. Empty your bag of spinach into the container. The spinach needs to be dry. Place another dry paper towel on top (or even between layers if you have an extra large batch of spinach). Seal the container. The paper towel will absorb the condensation, preventing the spinach from becoming slimy. It should stay fresh for 5-7 days. Replace the paper towel in a day or so if it becomes too damp.

I think your cupping rubber mats problem will diminish with cooler weather and a lower Sun angle. My guess is the center is expanding faster then the cooler edges, and with no sideways to go.. the center is only able to bulge up. Try covering the center of one mat with a piece of cardboard to test the idea,,😁😁. (Perforated anti fatigue mats will have less problems because all those holes will allow rubber to expand more evenly.) Love your channel.

Your place looks so nice, I like your bird bath,( I made my own from cement and used Squash leaves for a design print in the bowl.) You are so busy, You didn't record the grill project, looks pretty good from what I could see.

I wanna say Ransom left voluntarily. Maybe out “respect” for Buddy but it seems Buddy is being a calm leader & Ransom is fine with the arrangement.

What you said at the beginning, yes horses are very aware. When a friend of mine would leave for a week with her horse, I took care of the rest of the herd. As soon as I pulled in the driveway, they would all start running towards the barn for their breakfast or dinner! Sometimes, a little neigh could be heard. The sound of the hoof beats in the dark was amazing.

That sucks they're going to put a subdivision out by you. I was just telling my daughter what a beautiful pasture with a view of the mountains this one place was before they put all this housing on it.

Subdivision stinks. They will start to drive you out. People will complain of smells and noise. They did it to us. Everyone finely sold out. Afraid for Animals. Built apartments. Next to horses.

Started playing Red Dead Redemption 2 after watching your review video and your other videos. I stole a Palomino and named him Buddy. A Buckskin and named him Ransom. But I want to catch and tame a black or very dark brown wildy to name Tanner. I'm blaming you Rick, for my obsession as I'm a 55 year old grandma 🤣

I'm interested in ranches that manage a high number of horses, somewhere between the ballpark of 50 to 150 in capacity. Do you have a recommendation for what you consider the best types of ranches? I like Spanish ranches but don't like the pain compliance they use for training/ managing/shows.
