@Ricj The owners of the horses are fully aware of this. The owners take steps to keep harmful or bothersome insects away from the horses. A friend who was also a horse trainer for many years was also in charge of keeping pests away from the horses. There are repellant sprays & lotions rubbed on the horses to keep the insects away.

@ricj3702 ah yes...those horses are so abused. I dare say I don't live the life of Riley they do. They are show horses and they are sheltered and kept in the nicest of conditions. Go worry about the animals at your local pound for real but these horses are NOT abused or mistreated. The animals that NEED help are out there though and I bet you could help them

@@JB-js4xi For real. I work at a therapy barn. Our horses are spoiled rotten and treated like gods. We fire/turn away anyone who so much as raises their voice at our horses. They get tons of time to just be horses, and we limit their riding time per week. Vet and Farrier on call 24/7 if we need them.

Who couldn’t love these magnificent horses!?!? No one!!! I got to see them once at a fundraiser & I actually cried. I know sounds silly, but they are just so amazing & actually seem bigger than when u see them on TV. Such stature & confidence. One guy took his dog up to meet them & the horse bent as far down as he could go for a snuggle/kiss. Amazing!

My mother grew up in eastern Canada and they had a Clydesdale horse on a family member's farm. I still have the picture of little her parked on top of it. She told me, "I was forced to do that. If it had moved one hoof I would have screamed and bolted." I, on the other hand, adore these huge guys!

They're not all perfectly marked per Budweiser's requirements for a Clydesdale gelding to make the cut for the image standards that they adhere to. That said, they come from excellent lines, and are great potential future stallions and sires, and I am sure they are healthy, happy, and beyond spoiled rotten. They are really cute, and Clydesdales are a stunning breed to begin with. It's a shame that the general public only tends to recognize the breed due to Budweiser, and tends to assume that the breed is relegated solely to farm work or carriage rides. They are wonderful riding horses with a proud Scottish heritage that long predates a beer company.

Large draft horses were used by all the breweries before gas powered trucks took over. Beer barrels were very heavy and they would stack them high on the wagons. Budweiser and its Clydesdales has been a marketing marriage and they have done much to support that breed of horse.

When I was a kid they came to a shopping center. It was exciting! They’re so beautiful! Somebody I knew had a Halloween party and had a Clydesdale to pull a wagon and I got to sit on one. So scary but he was so gentle.
