Hey Omar, My name is Patrick . I have been watching your tutorials on KZbin but I’m still a little confused. I hope you can help me. I have downloaded some KZbin videos that I would like to repost with commentary. I would like to add a thumbnail to the video that I am reposting but I can’t seem to access the videos from the studio. I have a laptop and I have KZbin premium. The steps that I have been doing are to first go to the KZbin studio and then on the top right click create and then click upload videos. That takes me to a box with an arrow pointing up and “select files”. When I hit select files it takes me to my laptop folders. Can you please tell me what I’m doing wrong? I would be happy to thru Paypal or superchat. I would appreciate it greatly. Patrick.

@MsGoldgirl2 жыл бұрын
I’ve been wanting to do this with some of my older content, but whenever I’ve tried to repurpose content from existing videos, YT flags it as a “duplicate” video and cancels the upload. Are they no longer doing that?
@pat40052 жыл бұрын
I think what you have to do in order to not have the content of the new video getting flagged as "duplicate", is that you must : - Not re- use the entire full-length video clips exactly the way they are. - use parts of each one that you want to incorporate into the longer compilation. - Add text (like titles, descriptive words, etc), and/or graphics or animations that overlay the original video clips (but only in a way that makes sense and is consistent with the video). - Add voice-over and/or sound effects, music, etc. to enhance the video. Keep focused on the concept that you are making a whole new video from the clips of other relevant videos, and adding useful and descriptive text, voice-over, narration, graphics or animation, etc. to make that video a whole new product for your channel.

Many such “KZbin advice” type channels constantly repeat and repurpose previous videos because they know almost everyone on KZbin is searching for advice on channel growth. And because of the huge demand for info on this topic such videos usually do very well. This makes such channel growth much quicker and simpler. But truth is that you can’t apply that formula to every type of channel. It really just depends whether your channel’s topic(s) of focus is of interest to a large % of the viewing population or not. If not your growth will be greatly inhibited no matter how good your videos are.

Having old 10 finished videos and stiching them together is a playlist, not a marathon. I think you have to rethink the naming, because "Content marathon" for me is to have a week or so of making new videos non stop. Me watching 10 videos of myself running 10 old marathons can't be a marathon, but running 10 days in a row can be considered a marathon, you know what I mean?

@THiNKmediaTV I specifically talked to KZbin partner support about stitched videos of my own videos almost two years ago and I got an answer that this types of videos could potentially be flagged under "content reuse". As far as I know KZbin does not provide many details in case of "content reuse" and simply demonetize the entire channel until the creator has fixed that issue. If I were in your position, I would reach out to KZbin again and clarify this idea once again, because otherwise this could be a double edged sword, especially because you're recommending this practices to other creators. Edit: It seems like the guidelines were updated over the time and do explicitly mention "other content", which would allow sticking your own videos. 🤔 Would still love an official statement from KZbin again.
