I love the character "Father". He's such a good dude and (aside from a few stumbles this season) he is a fantastic dad, committed to his partner (even though she can be somewhat distant, domineering, and unfaithful?)and comes complete with a library of "dad jokes" that he takes SO much pride in. I think my favorite episode is robot gladiator fight when he kind of had a father son bonding day with his "son" giving him his good luck charm, giving words or encouragement, and being so damed excited when Father won his fight. I wish Father got more moments of the kids telling him that they love and appreciate him because he does try his very best and deserves some love b/c it not coming from Lamia lol.

I think grandmother started the devolution process on Tempests baby when they met, which is why mother noticed the change, it’s cry called out to one of the devolved humans and when it took the baby the water did not affect it… I think people that had the fruit will be immune to the process

I don't think the fruit prevents devolution. My logic: the snake panicked when the tree was going to be grown, ate the fruit and the tree as soon as possible to prevent more humans eating more fruit. Grandmother wanted the snake dead. Grandmother's on the devolution side so I assume the snake is on the opposite side. Hence the snake is against devolution and the tree and fruit don't prevent it.

@@bennypoon1506 I don't think that's the case, as Grandmother doesn't want them turning into the trees and showed them it's "bad". My theory is that Campion is the main character, the prophet, and believes all things have a soul (or Sol), androids, trees, etc; and the Serpent was trying to communicate the Entity's wish to Campion. The Entity is using all the people to fulfill the prophecy, and wants to "destroy the planet" in a metaphorical sense, to "create a new planet" in which all humans have Campion's view of love, equality, etc. This is why the Serpent never kills Campion, and always just stares at him. It's trying to communicate imo. Marcus is the anti-prophet, he's against all androids and too dogmatic, which is why the Entity killed him. Edit: I also think that the reason it will "slumber" is because it can only communicate with intelligent life, which is why Grandmother and the "Technocrats" are for survival and dumbing everyone down and are the opposite extreme, anti-religious. Campion represents the balance of religious, and intelligent/pragmatic which manifests as inclusive to all life.

I think so too. Campion was the only one of the kids who they made a point of showing that he was devolving and that he also didn't eat the fruit. And the entity wants humans around (reasons unknown) and wants to prevent Grandmothers plan of devolving them so used the fruit.

The genius of this show is how they set up that plot twist very early on with all the clues leading to grandmother having different motives entirely. They also misled us to think Mother was going to become a dictator, but really she was right to mistrust everything that was happening. I love this dynamic. Season 3 is gonna be intense right off the bat. Can't wait.

It is important to note that Lucious was under the influence of the entity, and the entity wanted him to take Marcus to the resurrected "Sue" tree, and place that "torture" helmet on Marcus, this was all planned for a purpose. The entity knows what Grandmother's plans are, although the entity has been manipulating humans since the beginning of time, it is now apparent that it needs humans to survive (Intelligent humans) for what purpose, we just don't have that data yet, but what we do know is that it will try and stop Grandmother's plans to devolve humans again, and the entity has given powers to Marcus. It will be Marcus that rescues mother, I am pretty sure of that. As for flight, we really don't know what technology is used for flight, the serpent was "organic" and received that ability from mother, mother flies, but we don't know what allows her to fly, all this technology originated from the entity, the helmet is worn on the head, and is entity tech, so it it's not far fetched to assume, it did some "programming" of Marcus's neurons. I agree, with your assessment on Sue, she is not out of the picture yet (I hope not). I don't believe in coincidences, the fact that lucious was told to hand Marcus to THAT particular tree trunk, which was part of Sue. was done for a reason. she may, as you say, be able to communicate with Marcus, or maybe, they will share the same body, becoming "one".

I hope you are right. Sue is a great character and it will be/was sad to see her leave. I absolutely love the character of Marcus. He is both a sinner and a saint, a believer and an atheist. Flying lower in the hologram but never did we see it actually attack. As for mother, number 7 didn't want to attack. Remember it was mother who tried to attack first. The serpent just knocked her out not destroy. Rhe serpent seems to not want the humans to eat the fruit. I stated earlier why the serpent attacked the ground was to push Campion away. Then attacked the water to scare Campion from going to it. Remember Campion stated he wish he could go into the water in the finale.

The Entitiy ordered Lucous to nail Markus to the tree. So that Marcus would become a superpowerful Prophet for SOL. But, Markus has been so hardened by the stuff he has been through. He's is able to resist. (Remember conversation with Grandmother. Gandmother: "The Entity will try and control your mind." Markus: Well he's gonna find that it ain't that easy.) Markus will have "new" SOL powers, but still a sceptic with freewill. The snake never tried to kill Campion. He was supposed to. But his emotion wouldn't let him. (Remember when Mother started talking about #7 to Grandmother. Grandmother was happy at first. But when Mother told Grandmother that #7 had emotions. Grandmother immediately changed her tune and agreed to help Mother kill #7. In effect killing two birds with one stone. !. Getting rid of #7. 2. Tricking Mother into putting on the veil. (Remember she was already "fixing" the Cryopods. Whe Father told her Mother was going to wear the veil a bit longer. So she already knew what she was going to do.) Also Camion only copied part of the writing. The "important" part is in the half that he didn't copy. The BIG question? Why doesn't Father (or someone else) use the facilities of the Tarantula to track down Mother. They are all so nonchalant. What gives?

There needs to be more discussion about the ancient creatures. (Like the one Marcus encounters this season deep in the hole.) Before they de-evolve, they look just like the Engineers from Ridley Scott's Prometheus or the somewhat more primitive versions that get destroyed by David in the opening of Alien: Covenant. The similarities are too great to be coincidence. So, how does the Raised by Wolves universe connect to the Alien prequels?

I’m not sure if you (the host) or anyone else has mentioned this before, but the idea of destruction and reconstruction, on a cycle as a theme for the series matches very much that of the themes for Walter M. Milller Jr.’s ‘A Canticle for Leibowitz.’ I highly recommend you read. The first few episodes of season one follow a lot of tropes from this novel and the themes seem to carry over. At the very least it’s a sci-fi book I highly recommend. Much like the ‘Dune’ series.

5 season series, they are just not going to give up all it's information at the end of the second. we did find out a lot, we now know, how, and what caused the humans to devolve, most importantly we now know it wasn't the entity that did it. we know the serpent, was did not intend on killing Campion, I think it just wanted Campion to be near the shore but not in the water, the serpent was being controlled by the entity through the tree it swallowed. Marcus will probably rescue mother, which is why Lucious what instructed by the entity to put the helmet on Marcus and hang him on the tree, so it could give him power to confront grandmother and rescue mother.

@@isaac-fl7pl I love Westworld the movies the shows but I watch a ton of b rated sci fi I just really love sci fi. I love this show. I just kinda feel like sometimes sci fi shows rely too much on the mystery and keeping the mysterious element that they end up tanking the show. Season 3 of westworld ended odd especially tying the man in black finding his daughter as an android back to the ending credit scene in 1. Even then both those seasons felt like they answered these questions presented in those seasons. I think both of these seasons haven't really answered the questions they posed just within the season and then added not small but large questions. This definitely felt like a penultimate episode and not a finale I think even just eluding a smidge more of the origins would keep people interested. The key problem with this is the time between the seasons.

I just felt really bad for number 7 - the snake. It bonds with its mother even though she denied it, tried to kill it, locked it in a cage and biased all the other children more than it. I mean, it never even had a name for god sake. Unconditional love towards its mom led it to its demise. Dude oviously didn't hurt anyone. It tried eating the threat, even though it did attack Mother, I didn't think it was trying to kill her. His last glance was so heart-breaking.

I’m definitely not sad. That serpent was an abomination. This disembodied entity/signal is behaving as if playing chess. Everyone in the show has been used like pawns. It knew mother couldn’t easily bypass her caregiving program. Knowing the blind spot. So took advantage while she was vulnerable in that simulation, not designed for androids. Her making love with creator was literally the signal infiltrating. Than Marcus was told to spare mother’s life for that purpose only.

I love the Gigeresque or Lovecraftian feel of the show, the acting is amazing, the story is very interesting. I find Lamia an incredibly well written character. Theres a bit of mistery, intrigue, sci-fi, Giger, Lovecraft, religion, well written characters.. really it has something for everyone

I'm pretty sure the bomb was meant for everyone following Marcus, not just Paul. And from the looks of things, the entity Marcus was following is trying to destroy all life on the planet, which would go against Trust's directives of protecting humanity. Makes sense why it would try to stop that.

They mentioned how Marcus was susceptible to the Entity so this may be a calculation for determining how to attain its goals. It could also be possible that the fruit from the tree could also be a direct link, perhaps something that'll protect against Grandmother's devolution and brainwashing scheme. We still don't know how many people have eaten the fruit, but it's possible they may be able to make an escape. Since this season introduced the idea of multiple colonies, they could end up going to another colony in order to rebuild their numbers and take on Grandmother in order to free Mother.

I don't think it is worth watching anything these days until a series is fully completed and has a decent conclusion, the people who make these shows are shooting themselves in the foot and disillusioning viewers. We invest a lot of ourselves and time getting to know the characters and then wham! We are turning the tap off say the makers. The way this finished is a good reason to use free download services and not pay a cent for unfinished product.
