Thinkware does not have HDR but it does have WDR. HDR processes images to ensure clear recordings in bright and dark light. This allows the Dash Cam to combine multiple images at different levels of brightness to create one superior image.

I'm aware this is a year old post. I was watching a dashcam video from a GNET G-ON4, which lead me to finding this review. From the clips you provided I think the GNET G-ON4 provides a more usable image than Thinkware U1000 during night time recordings. Daylight recording? They were all overcast/cloudy conditions. No clear sky bright sunlight examples. The two products seemed equal in what I saw. Neither one provides a legible image of a license plate in moving traffic. In daylight, Viewing the passing tree branches looked better in the Thinkware, which was unexpected. I wish the video compression levels were select-able.

Hello Ben. The sooner you compare the Gnet to that A139 Pro, the better - at least for me! I plan to order a dash cam early next month and would like to see your comparison of those two models first. From what I can see from your other videos, the A139 Pro seems to be the better all rounder. Plus, no one in the UK seems to be selling that Gnet anyway so the decision may already be made for me! Your channel is great, very useful and informative.

Hello Considered Thoughts, I actually returned the GNET G-ON4 back to our distributor. I was trying to get CLOUD to work and I could not get any support from GNET. I actually could not even get a hold of anyone at (GNET)either for 3 weeks now. To me it is important to get support from the manufacturer as well as have great quality. IROAD and VIOFO have been great for support. I did have the GNET G-ON4 in my vehicle for a few weeks and the VIOFO was better in overall video quality. The GNET does have H.265 video codec, which is nice though. I also was working on that video for you regarding how to turn cellular data off on VIOFO app. But my Iphone 14 pro max does not act any differently with the option on or off. But my iphone 12 pro max did. Very strange. So trying to verify that.

@@SafeDriveSolutions Thank you Ben. I completely agree with you about support. To me that's more important than the features the cam actually offers. I have been in touch with Viofo about their model and, while they needed chasing, they did eventually respond. From what you have said, you and I agree. Out of the Gnet, the Thinkware and the Viofo, it's the last one that, currently, is the best choice. No need to worry about that data usage video for me. I think all I need do is disable mobile data for the Viofo app on my Android. I feel it will be easy enough to do.

@@consideredthoughts1791 I actually was not able to duplicate the challenge on the android but I do have a Pixel 5 I use for testing. VIOFO is on CHinese New Year right now so there is limited staff until the 29th from my understanding.

Have the G-ON4 in my new 2023 Kia. Only issue I see is that the sound play back is terrible, breaks up constantly. Not possible to listen to any continuous sound.
