Jus for clarification before bundle firefighting tactical bashing, this isn't the Houston Fire Department (HFD) suppression and exposure activities, but is a neighboring fire department located to the north side of Houston. If it was HFD multiple ladder pipes and master defensive streams would have been flowing much earlier. These are mainly large volunteer fire departments that cover Aldeine area of north northwest side of Houston. HFD kicks butt on these types of fires!!!

I don't know why these Yt ff people are leaving negative comments, these departments did an excellent job knocking out this giant fire! They might have had some water pressure problems!? Also, excellent job with getting this video! 🎥 Very sorry for these people who lived there! 🙏

Hm have anyone ever thought that hmmm maybe the water pressure in this area could be low that's why they could be taking quite a while. Nobody? Everyone just scrolled down and put their 2 cents about what they could have did better?

A couple of what I think may be relevant points. First, the video is from a very limited perspective and it is virtually impossible to evaluate what was going on firefighting wise. I do know the Eastex FD Facebook page indicates the building was fully involved upon arrival so I suspect the first priority was to protect exposures. Firefighting 101 (after life safety) is contain, control and extinguish; therefore the first available water would be used on exposures to contain the fire, which would not be visible in the video. Also, it should be noted that the Eastex Fire Department achieved an ISO Class 1 rating in 2016, so it looks like the professionals who rate fire departments think they are doing something right.

Lots of fire engine on the scene already.....did someone cut off the water instead of the power? It took them a long time to get water on it.

I must be missing something. Why do they wait so long before putting water on the fire ? And then turn the water off. Do they 2ant it to burn the whole place down ?
@timjohnston24214 жыл бұрын
Although a great video and well edited, I must ask a question: Why do American firefighters (not all) wait until a building is completely ravaged by fire. At one point 5 firefighters standing with 2 hoses at their feet. Here’s an idea, pick up hose and spray water. Simple.
@derrickguffey47753 жыл бұрын
At what point can you clearly see everything going on in the video and know all the details concerning the situation. Answer you cant and dont. The building was well involved by the time fd arrived and there were apparently water pressure issues and it's hard to fight a fire without water. Add to that the water available was used to help protect exposures.

The good news no one hurt in this incident. The bad news everyone got awoken about 1 AM to find their homes were being destroyed by fire. This video starts well after the fire got started and there is not much that is known about how advanced the fire was before it was reported. This indicates that Houston's fire protection services did things right regarding occupant and firefighter safety.

They did a mighty fine job keeping people safe. Y'all should be aware that there can be problems with water supply such as lowering in pressure or no water in the area at all, as well as what happened in this case, the hydrant near the area was painted shut by some idiot who can't watch where he painted. I was a volunteer fireman for St.helens Oregon for seventeen years and we had a a big warehouse on fire and it was hard to fight the fire because we found out that the owner of the building had turned off all the water supply off so we had to drop a tail and had the next fire truck pump water to us and we had .. it sucks because we used all are 5 inch hoses on are bed and they had to take a hydrant to put water to us and and it took so long to get water to us. We use all are water we cared on are firetruck before they got water to us.

First of all numb nuts none of that made any sense if you are going to comment in the English language first it behooves you to learn proper sentence structure and grammar. Second it would help if you spelled words correctly and thirdly al least attempt to structure a sentence in such a way that it makes sense based on the words you are using in that sentence. Your comment was complete gibberish. You either acted stupid on purpose for reasons I can't fathom or you truly are completely ignorant of how yo speak English in a way that actually has meaning to it.

Don brinkman another troll extraordinaire. I've seen this guy not pick alot of other firefighters videos sometimes over the most trivial thing too. Seems hes just miserable and wants to spread it around. Armchair experts are the same the world over so convinced of their own superiority and perfection regardless what the subject matter. They cant fathom the possibility that they could be wrong. If you Don are the final word in what a professional firefighter is expected to be then sir why are you not out there saving lives and property and being the glorious shining example to all the amateurs. Hmmm curious thing that.
