Do female cockatiels vocalize when they are in flight? They are generally very quiet
@ParrotVolancyАй бұрын
@@Kauan75805 Yep, all cockatiels call constantly while in flight and only stop right before or upon landing. :] I have never seen one who didn't call in flight.

@@Kauan75805 I guarantee you if that bird were in sustained flight they would for sure contact call. It's programmed into them.

Why don't you free-fly with cockatiels with other mutations like the white one, for example?
@ParrotVolancyАй бұрын
@@Kauan75805 The only reason I had to stop with Ki-ok is she has too much anxiety and will do nothing but tree-sit until she absolutely has to come down. It just wasn't making sense for her. She also has an issue where she plucks herself and other cockatiels. Nothing medically wrong was ever determined. I think her anxiety disorder is genetic due to inbreeding, so I only acquire wildtype cockatiels for free flight now if I can help it. However, these five babies have a mix, including white-faced (Baby #2 in this video and Baby #4 who will go this weekend) and pied (Baby #5, who will go this weekend). It's just that when you choose a cockatiel with multiple recessive mutations, you are increasing the chances of something being genetically wrong. Lutinos are also not a good choice for free flight because they have worse vision.

@@ParrotVolancyyes lutinos really have a vision problem unfortunately
