I came here to listen to HF's Ariadne yet again. It's perfection - I second other posters on this. I would love to know what Zoë Wannamaker thinks of it. There aren't many men - or women - who can make a hair flounce audible, but Hugh does; he just does. Sublime.

Excellent job. Of all the Poirot (or Maigret), this is the best narration. Getting Poirot's accent right; not too heavy and not slipping into pure English, either, is tantamount to capturing an authentic and authoritative recreation of Poirot, otherwise, the whole story comes apart. Here, it's just right. Hugh Fraser plays the other characters well, too, with perfect timing and pacing against a cozy background of a crackling fire. 😊 After listening to other offerings, I realized how hard it is to bring these stories to life. This goes to show what a skilled thespian Hugh Fraser truly is and we very much appreciate him and his work. Thanks to all for bringing this to us to enjoy. 🎉🎉🎉

I really can't help but join the omniscient praise for Mr. Fraser! Just with his voice alone he creates spaces with groups of people, and I swear, the moment that elder porter spoke up I absolutely saw him step up to Poirot and the younger Porter, taking his cap off, to the dead woman. Agatha Christie has been with me on and off through 50 years now and the older I get, the more I appreciate her wit. What a treat this here upload is! Thank you so very much!
