I don't think your Internet could have been the only issue. I opened the thirty dollar website, added a few sounds then turned off my wifi. The sounds would still play and I could add more of the sounds I already used, but the sounds I hadn't used yet were silent. This means that most likely all of the work of playing the sounds is done by the browser, once the sounds are downloaded into memory.

Interesting. I wonder what would happen if you put something that isn't a sound, like a loop or change screen color, while the internet if off but you have sounds already. Would it work? I'll have to test that!

You can't edit with OBS and I have standards for my videos. I don't want 2 hours of silence in my videos.
