Do you need to be a resident to fish that little Back River of Canyon Lake?

You need to be a resident to use the boat launch. But otherwise, no. It's a county nature reserve back there. So its open to the public. But the Sheriff has been super active lately. Rounding up jeeps and dirt bikers, and kicking them out. So the only way to get in without getting kicked out is to hike, ride a horse or a bicycle.

do you have any tips for bass fishing canyon lake from the banks? (looking for a beginner boat but its rough right now) im just trying to catch my first bass lol... looking to head out tomorrow morning.

Right now the majority of fish are post spawn. They bite a fluke real good and a weightless wacky stick bait around docks this time of year.

@@alexm1841 haha! Ya i did. it only took about 600 miles of driving and i dont know how much money buying and trying baits and all sorts of stuff... but i have caught about 6 bass in the past 2 years lol. turns out urban bass fishing is just... terrible and boats are too expensive.

No. Standard California laws apply. I would only keep cropping there though and always let bass go

No. You used to be able to dirtbike into the back of part of the lake, but even then I think they shut that down years ago.
