Even eight years later, "From Yesterday" is still one of my all-time favorite 30STM music videos. This band always seeks to think outside of the box in whatever artistic mediums they explore. Thirty Seconds to Mars work their asses off and are genuinely humble, down-to-earth people despite their band's worldwide success. I have immense appreciation for them. I thoroughly enjoy how all their music videos are essentially short films or mini-documentaries. Their music videos make the audience contemplatively ponder what they're watching. You cannot passively watch Thirty Seconds to Mars MVs.

FROM YESTERDAY He's a stranger to some And a vision to none He can never get enough Get enough of the one For a fortune he'd quit But it's hard to admit How it ends and begins On his face is a map of the world (A map of the world) On his face is a map of the world (A map of the world) From yesterday, it's coming From yesterday, the fear From yesterday, it calls him But he doesn't want to read the message out On a mountain he sits Not of gold but of shit Through the blood he can look See the lives that he took From a count to one He'll decide when he's done with the innocent On his face is a map of the world (A map of the world) On his face is a map of the world (A map of the world) From yesterday, it's coming From yesterday, the fear From yesterday, it calls him But he doesn't want…

This Song has aged insanely well. I would argue it sounds even better nowadays than it did when it first came out because compared to back then we have so few songs currenty that have this sound and this feeling attached to it. I'm pretty sure the band didn't even know what they pulled off with both This is War and A Beautiful Lie. Both of these Albums have an energy and sound to it that you almost couldn't recreate now cause it was the perfect mixture of a pop type of sound but also hard hitting rock riffs. In general this band had some massive bangers in their discography.

no, from the point of view of vocal art : his range is narrow, within the range his tenor lacks strength, trembles uncontrollably, often he can't hit some notes clean, overall his voice is weak, live he is much worse than in studio. I do like his voice and what the guys do though. They are wonderful. I see that he puts his soul in his performances. I see guys care about what's happening around. They are doing very good and important music. Closer to the edge is awesome. Just his vocals are far from best by any measure. They are mediocre. And music is quite mediocre. I don't find anything musically complex or subtle in it. But taken together the voice, the heart, lyrics and music are good . Smth like that.
