Father, and everyone at Ascension, I wanted to share that today was the first time I stepped into a catholic church. I happened to visit a place close to the church and so I thought to randomly walk in to see how mass went on. Everyone was on their knees, so I knelt down as well as the adoration went on. And oh, what peace filled my heart after I left the church. I am a Protestant but I have been strongly considering Catholicism for a few months now so please pray for me!

Father, I absolutely love this homily! If it weren't for my 83 year old mother, who went through 12 years of Catholic schooling with nuns as her teachers, I would know very little about our faith. Priests don't tend to speak of these things from the altar. Maybe they think people would find it boring? No! It is spectacular!! There should be mile-long lines of people waiting to get into every mass.❤

An important homily about how we are all kingdom priests because of Baptism. We must pray for self and others during the mass. Not stay on the sidelines but participate in the mass. Attacks, prejudice and stereotyping of priests is indeed an attack on the Church as well as God. When people leave Church, they automatically either go astray (wrong worship, superstitious - astrology, idolatry etc) or stop believing in God or forget about God. Quite a few theater terms come from the Catholic Church, the Navy and the Marine Sailors of the middle ages and before that, as well (from the time of pirates). People did this because mariners came into land for two things: to be a part of their families' lives for a while without losing their skills, and to go to Church. One of my theater professors once said that Mass is the "Supreme Play," because it's absolute and total prayer where we use everything from our voice to our whole body to stand up, sit down, kneel, and be completely involved with each other. I think I know the priest/exorcist cuz ours told us the exact same story a couple years ago during a spiritual warfare night at our parish. Basically the nun when dying refused Gods will to die even though she knew it was her time to go. I remembered hearing that and it changed how I viewed death. Don’t be afraid and always be ready to go when He calls you home.

I still and usually do love his homilies but the last few weeks have me thinking. Jesus actually never told us to worship him, he told us to follow him. I know worshiping is easier, but we are called to follow him, which is harder, but is what is needed.
