I did a similar thing... I brought out the voltages of the PC supply to binding posts, and set them up so that I can put connections between voltages... 3.3 to 12, 5 to 12, and disconnected from output ground from the chassis ground, so that I can put two PC supplies in one box, and have+/-12, +/-5, 24V, 10V, and use two of the programmable supplies, in the same box, so that I have two independently adjustable supplies, to use as +/- supplies, separate sources, in series or parallel... So, I have fixed voltages of 12 V @ 16 A, +5 @ 20 A, +24 @ 8 A, and 2x adjustable supplies @4 A.

One of these videos was for a US$1.00 Bluetooth module. I bought 5 at A$0.94, that is US$0.56 each! They are brilliant. 3 days later they were A$1.12, so they went up 15%. Was that because I did a good review, because the Australian dollar went down or the Yuan went up? Special deals for new sign ups. Lots of variables here.
@spehropefhanyАй бұрын
Thanks for the review. Some laboratories are worse than others- I had to solder in the bathroom of a US hotel because the lighting was too dim everywhere else (more like lavatory grade work). BTW, it's not a potentiometer- it's a (mechanical) rotary encoder with a switch.

I have two of these in service. Use a 20 Volt Lithium battery (pack for power tools) to deliver up to 2.5 Amps to a tungsten load that must not go over 7 Volts. Works great and does not generate much RFI at all in the Medium Wave broadcast band.... I paid $14 each from a US supplier. I was happy to pay that...

As this thing is advertised as a buck/boost converter you did not show the boost capabilities. On the 12v supplied voltage, can you still go up to 30 volt? And how is the current limit at that voltage.

I also have this and a couple of other ones feg SK120 ... . I seriously like this one. Cheap, not a ton of useless options that you forget about after you tried them and it just works. Also an LCD which is visible outside, The only thing I can't understand is why that they don't make a cheap plastic housing for it. Not everyone has a 3D printer and the metal ones costs like 3 or 4 times the price of the module. At the input I use a XT60 connector which I can connect to my solar panels or the Powertools battery which btw I also charge with this module. Perfect quick portable powersupply with a large voltage and currect range. Only downside, but not a lot is the efficiency but that is just to have a negative point.
@HacktuberАй бұрын
Very well explained sir,for the money the gadget worth every cent,its small portable and can handle 4amps which is enough for many experiments
@mariebaxter473Ай бұрын
Regarding the housing , lots of people will add this to an existing transformer housing or project as a finishing part , so would not really want a housing that gets tossed into landfill.
@SteffenBoserupАй бұрын
The 3d printer was not invented, when I were learning about electronic - I used expensive boxes, which I got from electronic stores, and often I just sourced an retired plastic lunchbox, and modified it to suit the purpose - a hot glue gun and a dremmel are nice tools to have...

Well, the version that I have seems to do the current setting quite accurately, but the current output reading seems impossible to get calibrated. Voltage is off a bit, but seems easier to calibrate. Be careful when charging your batteries with these; for some reason, they don’t respond well. Even though I set the voltage, it somehow overshot the target by almost a volt. This can destroy lithium batteries or even cause an explosion or fire.
@mariebaxter473Ай бұрын

ok the $2 is one time price for new aliexpress account not existing, some cheaper module are PWM not DC/DC and starting price for existing aliexpress account start from around 5-6 USD with free shipping if you lucky. The ebay is $13. It used to be popular in aliexpress but now hard to find as they don't make them anymore. In general, the Aliexpress seems to be increasing the prices for cheap China craps. I have been grabbing many cheap things before Trump's policy imposed Tariffs and barriers which shut down or limits this trade route. The regulator device is a cheap copy or clone from the original manufacturer, which means inferior quality. I know I saw issues in various products from Chian crap, but hey, I still buy them because it's fun!. I expect during 2025, China is ready to move away from the USA and impose a policy to kick out US business in China once Trump implements harsh measures. They still have a market in another country. That is the way business works at the international level.
