Just ordered one of these. You guys need to try the Racer SG version they have. Amazing! I had to do a few minor adjustments to it, but it's just as good as any $1000 plus guitar IMO. Makes you look at your expensive guitars and question why they cost so much other than paying for a Name.

I have a westcreek racer in bumble b. I was just as dumbfounded as you how good it was straight outta the box. Not sure how they are doing it. Outstanding job Westcreek. Great guitars.

Thanks for the review. The guitar looks and sounds great. I'm amazed at the quality we can buy today compared to 20 years ago. I really like the color of this guitar. It would go well with my seafoam green and turquoise guitars :-). I'd buy one of these but I just wish they put the pickup in the neck position :-). Personal taste and not a dig at this guitar at all.

great vid...thank you so much...your the oly vid ive seen of this guitar that actually removes the pick guard...now i really want one...ill remove that pickguard and maybe plug the holes and run it naked and try a seymore duncan p90 in it...try that new jared nichols noiseless p90

The thing I love about rando P90's is you can swap magents for different tone/response without guilt or fear. Alnico 2s or sandcast A3s would be candidates for sure. This one feels a bit like the Gibby Melody Maker, a little more than a dc Jr.

I caved, and bought one of these. I got the white one a few weeks ago. Its not very good. LOL it looks super cool, and rock and roll. And I do like the P-90 in it. Yeah - it's pretty cool. But it sucks as a player. Mine came in an absolute Train-Wreck. Completely playable. Not a game-ender. I did some set-up work, and at least got it to play. It's usable - and that's about it. The neck is about as wide as the street I live on. Rough neck sides and fret-ends. It's just not a player. If you have GIANT hands.... it might suit you. Otherwise, take a picture of it. Because that's about a good as it will get.

I don't have any at the moment in the video I just used some foam underneath the pickup to raise it up. @10:00 it works well and is pretty much invisible

Is the neck rubbery or stiff? Another channel had a Westcreek guitar and the neck was very easy to bend. I owned an Epiphone Special with a single humbucker. I liked everything about it but the neck was VERY bendable. The slightest movement made the notes go sharp or flat. It was sold.

This guitar has a 50s style neck on it, it's thick and wide and does not bend easy

On this guitar in particular it made a big difference, didn't sound great before getting the strings a little closer to the pickup

What was the distance between the pickup body and the strings after you raised it? I have a white one and need to raise the pickup also.

Very useful presentation here, and not just a lot of blathering on when unboxing. Kudos. Does raising the P-90 leave a gap between the guitar surface and the bottom of the pickup upon raising it?

Yes, it'll leave a slight gap. You can also use a p90 spacer for no gap, or cut the foam to fit exactly below the pickup cover.

I received my DC the other day in white. I ordered some spacers for the pickup and was wondering what measurements am I looking for when I raise it. Also did you lower your bridge posts down to the body for the lower action? Thanks in advance! 🤟

I usually set my pickups about 1.5-2mm away from the strings, I did lower the posts a bit for lower action.

Again sorry to bother but most people haven’t heard of Westcreek, and I thought your video was the most informative! I think lower the poles flush and use the spacers I ordered.. thank you!

@@tom7073 mine came slightly raised but all uniform height, I kept them as is. They are adjustable for personal preference though, for example if you b string is quieter than the rest you can raise up that pole etc.

The pink one is gone. Oh, well. That's crazy. I got a Grote. The pickups sound good, and the body is ok..but the frets are a mess. I still haven't gotten it straightened out. So, I'm wary. It seems like a crap shoot. Everyone seems to get lucky, but me.

Not really blowing my mind but what a fun little axe to tune in open G and play your Stones and slide tunes at a gig :) (hell you can always repaint it to a less gay color...lol)
