I test drove both and did ton of research. The Miata is slightly better with double wishbone suspension and actual beautiful engine bay. The shifter & clutch are slightly better. However I bought the BRZ because I need room for real subwoofer to complete the driving experience. If I could have a daily and afford a Miata as weekend car I would’ve done that. Still 100% happy with BRZ after 2 1/2 years and will buy another if anything happens.

Had an FR-S and apart from the torque dip, was an awesome car. What I like about these cars and an NB Miata that I owned was the about use of high RPMs but still not be going crazy fast and asking for ticket. Agree with the reviewer though, the sound of the Toybarus is a little weird, hopefully sme of the aftermarket exhausts can help.

The dealership disabled fake noise when I bought the car. Still replaced exhaust after tint & subwoofer. I chose AWE touring that sounds amazing but tad loud with back seats down.

What? Umm... We had this tS and the WRX RS at the track to drive back-to-back. We could lap roughly 2-sec/lap quicker in the WRX (but most of us found the BRZ more fun). The WRX just has so much more torque.

I'd argue you can get a base 86 add Eibach or equivalent springs, cheap summer tires and call it a day.

@@Sonic_1000 wheel horsepower has nothing to do with it. Why anyone would want less precision, less predictability, less communication, less grip in the wet and the dry, a narrower performance envelope in all weather conditions, and a lesser all around tire is beyond me. Sure, I prefer the Michelin based on experience, but there are plenty of other decent options, but a cheap tire? Never.

@@BrianMakse Still, your review is an outlier, which of course you are entitled to but you made it sound like limited BRZ is not an enjoyable sports car unlike the GR and tS. Seems exaggerated to say the least. BTW in your original review of the new BRZ you praised it constantly and even though you mentioned the suspension difference compared to the GR, you also said it’s down to each preference and that it’s not really noticeable unless you drive them back to back. So now suddenly the Limited BRZ sucks?

Great review Brian 🙏👍 MAGA 🇺🇸🇨🇦 I wish this car would have come with a more main stream 4 cylinder…the Boxer engine is nuisance when the car ages after warranty with oil leaks, oil leaks and oil leaks. Probably coolant and head gasket issues are guaranteed once it reaches higher mileage…200,000 kms. The Mazda Miata is a total gem and totally bulletproof reliable with minimal issues.
