This camera doesn't have the ability to shoot photos (or video) in a raw uncompressed format. The camera does all processing internally which most likely includes some form of sharpening and noise reduction. The black lines or spots are artifacts from these processes that are typical when you are trying to remove noise but keep details that that are affected by the noise.

i have a casio and it shoots amazing photos, also I have had the camera for probably 5 months and its never lost any battery. Not sure why that is but im not complaining

I think the black spots are caused by the noise reduction algorithm. In Lightroom, a similar effect can be achieved by applying a substantial amount of noise reduction and increasing the "Details" option to high levels.

those cameras are shit. If you want some really good cheap and tiny camera, take an old micro 4/3. If you want high speed video, use a phone. I have one old casio (the casio fc100) and it's trash for today standards

That smol black dot was dust problem, any compact camera need to deal with it after long time used. When have enough light maybe you cant see it, but when the light not enough it appears like some type of noise

I've been thinking of getting a sony hdr sr12 or sr11 for the summer for memories and maybe some urbex footage because of the nightshot feature. Do you think this camera and maybe some sort of IR setup or nightshot/nightvision lens would be better price wise? (sr12 goes for 140-180 on ebay)
