The fog really makes it look so good. It softens the image without having the washed out look of black pro mist filter and allows high contrast still.

@@dandeve Yeeeeeah, so you mean he saw it and refused the temptation to do something with it..? Im not so sure he saw it. You can debate that he DID do something with it, meaning what we noticed was on purpose, but few people actually manage to pull off such minimalist jokes. Personally I love jokes that go "under the radar", whether on purpose or not.

I LOVE THIS VIDEO, i was watching Riverdale and noticed it in EVERY SHOT, and then went and researched it....i did the same thing, bought a fog machine for next to nothing used, and the look in POST IS CRAZY... it makes your shots look SOOOOO cinematic, it breaks up your subject from your background so great, and when strong sources of light poke through the haze you can't beat that look....you just have to learn the amount and when and how often to reapply.
@1001Hobbies2 жыл бұрын
This is one of those secrets Hollywood people don't like to talk about. We've seen so many behind the scenes documentaries of the making of films but rarely do you see them hazing up an indoor scene. It was only while I was an extra on a Hollywood set that I learned this. They use it in indoor scenes ALL THE TIME. Atmosphere Aerosol is good for when you don't have a place to plud in your fogger.

It's so funny you're talking about this. Because I had no clue how people were doing this either until I took a lighting course last week and they showed this haze machine. Varying in price between $150 and $600. It's awesome to know that the same effect can be done with such a cheap fog machine. Thanks bro! And hey, get better buddy. I love your content.

I mean, it’s definitely more stylized than what a haze machine would give you, but I don’t see why this wouldn’t work for most budget productions. I think it looks great!

Dude. I am trying to learn Blender 3D and I am really happy that everything I know about photography translates to 3D software and I am always trying to do some volumetric lighting sticking some "fog" everywhere and when I do video and photography I never use fog and never knew the real fog solution was always there waiting for me. Thankyou for this fast reminder.

No it shouldn't leave any residue. Most water based fog/ haze juice is gylcol based. Oil based fog/haze fluid will leave a residue, but I haven't seen that stuff used in nearly 20 years.
