Based on the initial test, I actually thought #1 looked better than #2 based on an overall image. Maybe looking at just you, yes #2 was slightly better. But the overall image, #1 looked better to me.

You're not tripping. The color was _slightly_ better on #2, but ignoring the bokeh effect of the background in #2 , #1 was even sharper on the guy. Check out the stitching of his chair. Sure #2 will give you many more options for adjusting, but otherwise it's a no-brainer if money matters.

Nearly perfect, just lacking 60 fps which is bad, especially if you stream games in your 60 fps because you can easily notice the different frame rates between the 2 outputs. Thx for the video

Hi great video. I just bought this camera to stream on Twitch. I’m using a MacBook Pro 13”. I’m not using it to game with. I’m using the camera to stream making my leather handbags. The problem I’m having is with the autofocus going in and out of focus constantly. This makes it hard for my viewers to see clearly. What software would you use to turn off the autofocus? I sold my Sony a6100 with a sigma 16mm 1.4 to save money and got the facecam by Elgato and within a few hours I knew I done messed up really bad ! I returned the webcam and re purchased my Sony and sigma lens.

This is a good video, I should point out with a DSLR/Kit lens youre just using a small set of the things the camera does. A third party $100 manual focus lens can be a lot wider aperture and cheaper than a kit lens giving you the bokeh and 95% of the quality of a $3000 lens. You just need to set the focus to the distance to your chair. Its not $50 but its cheaper than a kit lens and a lot of people have these cameras lying around or they find them at garage sales so it might be $100 to get there and youll have better quality. DSLRs aren’t as portable and setup can be a bit janky because you’re not really using them for their primary purpose. Honestly canon, fujifilm, etc should make a flagship webcam with a lens mount theres a market for it.

I could definitely tell which one was the DSLR, but that is probably because I have Nikon D3200 DSLR, which is basically one of Nikon's challengers to the Rebel. But I'd rather not have to use my DSLR in every instance and for $50, I can do color correction in post simply enough! And like you said, having to setup your DSLR every single time you wish to do a streaming vid or a capture, is a pure pain in the A**! I love my DSLR, but ... well... you know.

I would prefer people just starting out with streaming to have audio quality as a main focus. Nothing worse then watching someone and their audio is distorted, crackling, tinny or poorly mixed and balanced.

Just got newest Depstech 4K DW50 webcam in Canada for $86 and it's overall worse ever seen in very long time, reminded me of those cheap webcams came with laptops 20 years ago. I have a top of the line Ryzen 7 PC w/ win 11 Pro. Returned it and got me a Logitech Brio 4K Pro and El Gato Facecam webcams and both were night and day difference compare to Depstech 4k webcam. I believe, either this is a paid review or Desptech requires sone ideal illumination conditions to have a decent video quality. I tried Zoom and OBS with Depstech 4K.

Not a good comparison since the lighting is so bad in your shoot out between the two cameras. Your studio lighting is great. But the lighting is all over the place with the two cameras together.

So I've owned my Canon SL2 for years now and love it! But I will be teaching guitar and ukulele for a national online teaching company this summer and super interested in using my SL2 like you for online teaching (via Zoom technology they are integrated with through a licensing deal).. BUT.. it has to be totally reliable - would rather use an old Logitech 920 that always works if I can't make what would be a superior image with the SL2 totally reliable. I Also don't want to have to dial in the preferred settings every morning starting from scratch. Can I store custom setting for repeated daily use for streaming specifically with the SL2? I know from your videos that with a cam link and being willing to use my lens in a fixed focus rather than autofocus (due to backing out all features that show up as on screen text I can gain the appearance of clean HTML. I'm OK with going with a higher aperture number resembling fixed focus with no Bokeh. But I can't live with timing out every half an hour. Only solutions I've seen online involve dodgy buggy software solutions. How do you deal with the timing out issue? There is NOTHING I can find online with a straight answer to this hoping you can help!

Man I just bought the webcam after watching your video. You forgot important stuff like: it doesn't support manual gain control. That combined with the fact that auto exposure is just bad makes the webcam impossible to use. This is so unfortunate because the hardware itself is so nice.

now im new to this streaming world so my opinion is of that and only an opinion...(i dont not know a damn thing about streaming so i jsut try to put logic in this off common sense)...... ok so if i were to buy a camera i would want at least native 60fps and 1080p ..i dont know if they make cams with higher fps but me personally FPS over 4k cause everything is still very nice in 1080p . also auto focous and how well it dose it and color ...so a lil research i guess can go a long way ...that said i dont know if 600 cam is really worth it in general . maybe thats me being cheap idk .. but im new to this so i try to learn as much as i can or as much as i care to learn lol ...great video tho ...oh and i see alot of budget cams lip sync seems a lil off like a 1sec delay

With "fixed focus" you eliminate the in&out of the cam adjusting focus, so in most cases that might actually be better. Not sure, but I wonder if 30fps while not as nice as 60fps, does it affect transmission quality of the image to the receiver, due to the bandwidth?
