Quick update: I found out I installed the power supply the wrong way. It should've been flipped to draw in fresh air. Big thanks to everyone who pointed that out. Also, a clarification: the RX 6600 operates at 8 PCIe 4.0 lanes, but the motherboard in this video supports only PCIe 3.0. For those wondering, upgrading to a B550M motherboard would support PCIe 4.0, but it would increase the overall cost. Appreciate the sharp eyes in the comments.

@@LADTech understand as to why you choose the b450 as thats common for low budget builds. IMO i would of tried to change the mobo to b550 n CPU to 5500. Its alot easier to upgrade your CPU that supports Gen 4 then it is to swap out ur mobo. Thats what I did for my daughters build.

Solid build, something to note... with that front panel having no airflow, you'd be choking off your PSU from getting fresh air

the i3 series cpus is surprisingly crazy. 90 bucks, comes with an aircooler and is hella good for gaming. Pair that with a 5700xt, comparable to a 3060 for 150 bucks and thats the top tier budget build

I built mine with a 5700g for $800 then upgraded it with a 6,600 XT once I got money from a job. Coming out to a total of $1,000. But keep in mind this was during the end of the GPU crisis so I got super lucky to get my GPU for $230

hows your 6600XT going now? i had to return my 6600 because driver issues were insane regardless of what settings and optimizations i used. reinstalled windows, factory reset drivers, used DDU and installed newest drivers manually, nothing fixed all the inconsistencies in my frame rate. i'm waiting for my 3060 to come and am getting better performance on a gtx 1060 for now somehow.

@tstanl825 i got too lucky with my 6600xt purchase to regret it but man i heard amazing things about the gtx 1000 series. my pc is doing everything i wanted it for so i dont regret the purchase although id like to sell my pc and build a new one. its my first pc i built so there is a ton of room for perfection like a smaller case, a not so overkill psu, a pcie 4.0 cpu, not overspending on the cooler, and more motherboard to case compatibility. i defiantly tripped up a lil but better than i thought i could do and still impressed. so sad to see people selling better prebuilt pc's for 600$ though lol. did you build your pc? what kinda cpu and ram you got? i have 3200mhz cl 16 or 14 because thats all my cpu supports. if you leave a comment detailing how you built your pc id totally read it.

Honestly those temps were great for this little build even with the psu the wrong way. ive got a very similar pc in a full atx setup and my cpu temps were 80-90 until I ditched the default cpu box cooler. I bet if you tweak the fan curves you'd lower it a bit more.

the small price difference from pcie 3.0 boards and 4.0 is not worth downgrading for. Also your motherboard (and power supply) are the only components you really shouldn't cheap out on.

B series usually has better vrm than A series mobo, and pcie gen 3 has enough bandwidth to handle up to 4070ti without or very little bottleneck For budget build pcie gen 3 can go just fine with 7800xt / 4070 and good enough for 4-5years of gaming, by then you can skip am5 and jump to am6 The point is to put your money on what matters most, gpu & cpu

a520 is a poor choice for gaming cuz they have bad VRAM for anythin above a 5500 and dont allow for PBO / OC Get a half decent B450 or B550 ( B550 is usually 10-15$ more but generally worth the price )

Just built a pc for the first time in like 15 years. Went with a Ryzen 7 7700 to get on the AM5 platform to maybe upgrade the cpu in a couple of years, and everything else on AM5 is insanely expensive. Paired that with a 4070 super with a corsair case and AIO, 32gb of ddr5. I've been really happy with it, just put it together on Wednesday. Turns out you can overclock the hell out of a 7700 just using the auto overclock in Ryzen master, this thing will sustain a 140watt load no problem.

a550/a650bn for the PSU, a 12400f/b660m pro RS could be swapped in for slightly better cpu performance, CRAS910 if the 1tb is out of stock, a used 1080ti, 5700xt, or equivalent for the GPU, a cheaper case would have been nice to see to squeeze for 32 gigs of ram (if you are into the glass look, the montech XR or X3 mesh (white for now) are great options).

i have a ryzen 5 5500 and the asrock rx 6600 challenger white, just turn frame gen on, and anti lag off. it could be all of the tweaks i have, but the input delay is always less than 6ms, in comp games i average 3ms input delay and double the raw fps id get

great build especally considering the new parts!! i know this may be very obvious, but if you're willing to go used you could swap the 5600 for a 5700x3d from aliexpress, and get a 5700 xt over the 6600, it'd make a MASSIVE difference in esports titles and would be a nice boost for other games as well :) EDIT: you can also swap the b450 to b550 for an extra 10 ish dollars, gets you gen 4 support for future upgrades :)

Solid build overall, but only thing to note is that the b450 motherboard don't support PCIE gen4 and rx 6600 run at 8 lines gen 4 that will hurt the performance a little
