these unburrow plays make me so happy, this is beautiful lore accurate zerg. i feel like it's why unburrow was included as a zerg ability, the devs were imagining stuff just like this. i picture a whole cohort of terran cyclones moving across the landscape to purge a zerg colony and all of a sudden the ground erupts everywhere around them, chewing teeth and claws ripping into their armor, screams, utter chaos. back at HQ, the comms officers are trying to make sense of what just happened as the entire squadron goes dark in a matter of moments. amazing!!

Great games! To be fair to HeroMarine tho, he was doing a cyclone only challenge, so like u, playing below his main MMR due to doing a challenge, so perhaps a bit unfair to call it smurfing. I watched his steam pov also - sadly he did see the burrowed lings with that first scan on your third :-) he also wasnt lucky scanning the burrowed ultras, u poked them through the trees before quickly retreating and burrowing, he saw it, chased them and scanned. thx again for the great content! im a fan of u both and its fantastic to see u both play each other challenge vs challenge, some really fun & unconventional games.

I don't see what's so great about ling burrow plays. They only trade good if you catch your opponent and strictly a waste of units whenever they try to catch up to cyclones which this game demonstrated really well. if anything, the ling play ensured Marc was behind on the economy and can't make anything happen. There was no damage done to the enemy economy because those couldn't ever efficiently run into terran's bases without gettiing slaughtered by cyclones whereas cyclones could run into his bases and erase them pretty much for free as he had nothing to fight them with

The only mistake I see here, is spine crawlers take a long time to burrow... you already had a hatch, but if you built atleast 3 spines always matched, his spine crawlers can't hit your mineral line. Probably has 4 drones at home.. 12 drone pull or 16.. from 20 and then lings... but I always like pool first becasue it gives power, and queen access. Next time you see spine rush, build spine crawlers in equal ammount, asap, out side of the range of their spine crawlers. This allows you to stop anyone from attacking you or moving in on you.. and perhaps take the second base. the other option is a sneak drone ,but its obvious he waited for your hatchery, to be done, so you couldn't use those needed resources. your fighting in a 300 mineral defecit, but you can win since, you are mining about 20 seconds longer, so and you ahve larva ... produced that is more.... The defense to this strategy as z vs z, is match the spine crawlers outside of range so it costs him to attack you, you build your spine crawlers in a surface area, or mineral block, meaning ot limit surface area, and you can make alley for your queen also... now even if you lose the upper hatchery yo ucan build another one in your crawler that is offset and annoying but still mine. Pumping out queens was a great idea. Queens and lings... I htink ti was possible to defend this, jsut you had a trickle defense, which is a main weakness ot any group.... Alterantively you build, banneling nest and two spine crawlers out of range and make an alley for your queen to hide, IE maximize.. baneling is for ling defence like a couple, but if you ahve spines, it will take up your opponenets time and give more HP to your lings... as yo ucan see his crawlers really out performed your lings simpyl because of their hp pool, and if he queen walked it would be game over... regen on a spine crawler, epic... so yeha , mathc spine crawlers and infuse spine crawlers. main thing is wach minerals and hatcheries.... don't mind losing them. and you should balaNCE OUT with teh cralers and start saving for a new hatch... but at that poitn this player would probably tap.... or stay in since its 1 v 1. Z vs z... with aggressive crawler... you match, when it gets in... alternativly if you see or caught this you tripple evo and make a wall so they can't build any cralers in your creep... and then you build crawler behind and queens and macro up... z v z havinga spy is important.

Honest feedback for uThermal. There are often times when I watch your videos where based on your reactions/comments it appears that your attacks, cheeses, strats, harassment are working as intended or more often than not better than intended only to find later on in the match, you were behind, not actually as advantaged as you sounded earlier and resulting in a loss that, while certainly regrettable and understandable but completely not expected by the viewer. It leaves me with a weird feeling of highs and lows and actually makes me stop watching. Having thought it through, I think the main reason is that when observing you do these weird / interesting play styles, the hype and excitement stems generally from them actually working. When they dont work, its sort of like finding out that eating ice cream with chopsticks doesn't actually work that well, go figure. I'm not sure if this is useful for you at all but figured hey I've been a long time viewer and maybe leaving a heart felt comment would be in order. Cheers and thanks for the mostly great content :)
@dylansevitt7 ай бұрын
What your actually experiencing is bad strats working sometimes only because uthermal is playing at a very low elo compared to where his mechanical skill should be at. So he's playing worse strats with very high risk, leading to very hit or miss encounters.
@Maxfisg227 ай бұрын
@@dylansevitt Agreed. I think the disconnect for me is his own reactions and live interpretation at the time of. The "I can not believe that worked and killed 12 workers." usually gets translated to hey we're winning but within a minute or two, realizing we are actually massively behind despite the previous play is always a bit of a let down. It then changes the perception of the previous play where we watch uThermal spending precious APM on a play only to realize it was at perhaps the cost of the rest of the game. I'm nit picking here obviously but wanted to mention it in case it was helpful.
