When I was stationed in Annapolis with the US Navy I decided to get a part time job at the Annapolis Sears Auto Center. Sears was a great place to work and my manager there was outstanding!

I worked in the HQ for Western Auto in the ad department for 21 years. When Sears bought up WA, it was good and bad, more bad than good. In 1998, WA was sold off to Advance Auto and that was that.

I was thinking that this building, due to its save, would be split up into different stores. Always nice to see repurposing, as it avoids creating urban blight.

They are likely subdividing the Sears into smaller units. That’s why they cut a new entrance into the building. The Kmart near me was subdivided into three new chain stores recently.

I just looked around the area (through street view), the letters at 13:00 look to be some or all of "Dunham's". And that other building off in the distance you thought was an Ames was one (can see the store hours labels on the doors in street view) EDIT: WallieB did a video of the Ames years ago--pretty much gutted inside other than the walls.

In, the Detroit and Southeastern Michigan area. The, Former Sears Stores that were located in Malls, are now At Home /Hobby Lobby combination Stores. The, Former Sears Auto Centers, that were located behind Sears Mall Stores, are Part of the Malls. 1:51

Cascade Galleria in downtown New Castle is what it is called and the Downtown Mall in Meadville is just that.

I worked at Spirit Halloween located inside of this Sears in like 2019-20ish. Lol. The backrooms are pretty creepy. It smelled weird back there sometimes. One of the old dressing rooms inside of the sears had a mummified pile of (what we believed to be human) feces. We weren't sure whether it was from before or after Sears had closed (i think it closed around 2016ish? ....lol.)

They are putting 4 stores total in there. Michael’s and Five Below have been announced. There’s rumors of shoe carnival and Marshall’s but those have not been confirmed. The gabes was an Ames before. The auto center just closed in the last few years.

Only one time and that was in Ashtabula Mall I was asked to stop filming. I try to be very slick, get in and get out fast and avoid crowds and people in malls
