On 6:50 you say "there is a delay" - but that's not true. If you look at the buff-bar, the actual buff comes with an "Delay" as well - so the addon shows it the same time the game applies it without delay. Any delay here is the games fault.

I think one thing Anet could do to make it slightly better is make one dedicated spot for each buff/debuff. the fact that it's constantly moving on yours/your opponent's bar makes it a struggle just to even locate one specific buff or see how many stacks it has, as it's constantly moving.

There still are buffs for certain specs that are essential and need to be communicated in a different way, like WoW does with literally putting glowing arrows for a Marksman in the middle of the screen when a certain skill procced some essential buff. In GW2 you have to look at your skillbar constantly to see that and it doesnt help that the procced skill has mostly the same colors as the on it replaced for example.

Should also have static position for conditions, and the conditions and boons should be lined up based on how boons corrupt into which condition.

Don't hold your breath on ever getting timers. The author of the addon has stated he has no plan to implement timers along with the boons, which is unfortunate. As it is, Clarity is only moderately better than just having the boons on the bar. What's worse is the author refuses to release the source code for the library that pulls boon data, preventing people from using it as a jumping-off point to attempt this.

Its for the better. Addons in wow got out of hand and are literally nessessary to play the game. Tho Anet should also work and improve the visibility and clarity of the boons and condis

@@beilog7489 Yeah. I never liked in WoW that you were playing the UI more than playing the game. FFXIV does it pretty well in that every job's key boons are integrated into the UI so you don't need add-ons.

This is something I've wanted for stability specifically. Annoying to keep track of in for example Dragonstorm, I have to scan the entire boon bar to see if I can spot the stability icon in there.

I don't understand how a game as old as gw2 doesn't have interface improvements, clearly the buff and debuff thing is a problem. They force us to use addons that ultimately affect performance and are very cumbersome to use.

I'm happy that something like this exists, but the developer has made the decision to keep the code closed and not let others use it. That is totally their right, but means we can't do anything else with it as time goes on, since they've already openly stated they're not doing certain things. Also, the fact that this is even a thing that needs to be added to the game is more of a problem than anything else. I legitimately believe that having a UI that is completely locked in and can't be moved, resized, or altered in any way is insane. GW1 Literally had a better UI functionality than GW2. The silence on the GW2 devs part on this matter is basically my only major gripe with the game as a whole.

Hey Darens, I'm having lots of troubles trying to install Clarity. It keeps crashing the game and does not appear as an install option in Addon Manager. Also, the gw2clarity zip folder seems to be missing several files that you show on screen but that I don't have. I tried your Discord links in the description but they aren't working either lol. check my video on nexus! it fixes a lot of the issues with arcdps crashing and stuff!

Latest builds of arcdps now do a version check before running. I haven't had a crash in a while now. There is a little popup that tells you that you need to update and restart. And clicking it actually restarts the game for you.

addons doesnt ruin anything , necessary addons do , if u compare it to wow , you'll see that fights are based on a dddons , and it was said by ion himself , they make raid fights based on that garbage , you have to know why before stating something like this , when you play gw2 , even the base Ui is not helping since anet for some reason , dosnt wanna let us move things arround and leave it like this , addons will help people who want this option , specialy boons , everyone played without adddons , so having them wont realy do much.

@@atd9945 I'm a believer of you shouldn't be downloading any third party software for any game. Especially add-ons for your add-ons. This video I agree with should just be in the game... I think you should be able to move everything you have on your screen to where ever you want. Things that tell you when to do things and where to go ruin the experience. I mean there's tons of games where add-ons ruin the experience.

As asmongold has already said, any kind of addons should be permanently disabled because the sole existance of addons is the main reason why devs don't give a fuck about their UI and as time progresses, UIs suck more and more.

@@jaysmithdesign If they don't want addons they should fix the abomination that gw2 boonbars and UI in general is. This is not 2012 anymore. Also, anet does allow addons and has done for years. It's true this is not one of the 'main' ones which are specifically greenlit but nobody has been banned for this either.
