The use of four (4) CBs wasn't a decision made out of a spark of brilliance. M Dragon just forgot to store the Leftovers in the fridge and had to make do. Desperation breeds ingenuity.

Big thing to point out, all the banders are immune to Sandstorm, one is immune to Spikes, another to Toxic, and finally, another to Thunder Wave

In gen 9 UU I topped the ladder using a 5 choiced items. It was 1 helmet spinner + 1 scarf + 1 band + 3 specs. The offensive power was obviously insane but the defensive utility was shockingly decent. Offensive choice items are underrated in their ability to limit opposing options. I had respectably bulky pokemon like hoopa who could trade 1 for 1 with Pokémon because the raw power limits free turns your opponent can take.
