This ALIENS VR Game is SO INTENSE! // Fireteam Elite VR Mod (UEVR)

Later this year a brand new VR Aliens game is set to release, it's the first official VR Alien game we've ever had (although Alien Isolation feels pretty damn close to an official VR release with the MotherVR mod) and I am VERY excited for it! However I'm also very impatient, so I wanted to play a VR ALIENS game RIGHT NOW... Lucky for me we can already play a 6DOF, motion controlled, first person, VR Aliens game thanks to the UEVR mod (Unreal Engine VR mod); That game is Aliens Fireteam Elite. Aliens Fireteam Elite VR works beautifully and despite lacking a few VR centric staples like two handing guns and proper VR menus this is one of the best VR experiences you can have with UEVR. The best news is this one doesn't even require any tinkering to get a good experience, simply download the UEVR profile from the Flat2VR discord channel and you'll be good to go with full 6DOF motion controls and first person perspective.
Aliens Fireteam Elite is a much more action packed VR Aliens experience when compared to Alien Isolation, this actually feels very similar to a Left 4 Dead VR game except you're blasting Aliens instead of zombies.

The reason isolation was so good is because it was basically only the one alien for the most part. so they could make it ALOT more detailed and work totally on its movements and stuff.

Biggest problem with UEVR is discord, everything is hidden there, I did several videos of Ready or Not, and people ketp asking how I did it, and honestly, having to explain to people, that they had to first do this, then this and then this. Discord is cancer, trying to explain to people they have to register to 3 different sub sections of subsections of discord to find the right game, and then try to explain they need to find "pinned" messages, it's just terrible, instead of simply giving them a single link to a regular message board were everything is in a single post.

this is a perfect ex of a game that just baffles me the devs dont see what VR mode could bring. Its a small studio, so not a ton of budget. But im sure they could use UEVR and make a semi decent VR mode on the cheap, sell it for 20$ and make a KILLING on a game thats dead.

the acid stops, because there are no more molecules that can interact with metal molecules and make liquid substance. That is why your stomach acid doesn’t burn the whole you when you have gastritis (and it’s totally capable)

I believe it has to do with oxidization. When it enters in contact with oxygen it slowly starts to lose the burning properties.

4:50 in reality over time, the acid might neutralize or spread thin enough to reduce its corrosive power. it's realistic that the more stuff it eats through, the weaker it gets. now, if you cut the xenomorph on the bottom-most floor of a ship, you'd have a problem. but yeah, acid is DOING something, and doing it, changes the composition of the acid, until aventually, those reactions are kaput.

Regarding your Acid comments, the Acid will chemically react with whatever it touches (Hull for example) and as a result the molecules will chemically change as they react. That's why the reaction will eventually stop, hopefully prior to the acid actually breaching the hull. In essence, you run out of acid to react with the metal. Easy peasy simplified chemistry explanation.

I believe lore wise Xeno blood is extremely acidic but quickly loses it's acidity as it's oxidised so it will melt through a floor or two getting weaker and weaker until it stops.

It's just the pure hassle and requirements of it all. If I could boot up my VR headset, download a game, run it, and have it playing like this in VR, I'd be all over this. But it's not even close to being that frictionless. And it's absolutely beyond what my current PC could handle anyway, never mind just my Quest 3. PS. The acid stops burning through everything at some point because it oxidizes over time when exposed to air. They actually mention this in one of the movies.

Actually for a lot of games it really is just that easy. You literally just start the UEVR app before the game and it boots automatically in VR- currently playing Dead Island 2 and spent 5 min max messing with the settings (which I do for flat screen PC games anyways).

And do you have to go to some random site, downl0ad that UEVR app, extract and lnstall it, and possibly do some setup stuff before you run it as intended? And then what? I purchase the game on Steam VR on my PC, download it there, run it there, and then make sure my Quest 3 headset is connected vir air link or a direct cable, possibly even have the Meta PC app running in the background or maybe require a Wifi 5 or above connection to use it wirelessly, etc. I'm not sure you quite understand where I'm coming from when I am basically saying I want this to be frictionless.

the acid stops once its saturated. acid molecules fall apart when they react to other substances. It´s called a reaction equasion. Acid doesn´t delete substance, it rearranges it on a molecular level.

Developers will listen to feedback. Mention on Steam discussion or their official discords you played their game via UEVR and it was an amazing experience. They're more likely to look for official implementation if they realize people that bought their game like it that way.

IIRC, there are ways to take parts of the HUD element and attach them to items or your other controller. The HUD is a 2D element, so portion of the element is copied and attached to other elements. Also, in UEVR your HUD tends to be sized based on what you set your monitor's resolution to, not your VR headset. So set it to a smaller size, and the HUD elements look bigger and likely easier to read.

This is what worries me, I think the upcoming Alien Vr game is gonna feel like a short linear thing and between this, which was my first uevr game and alien isolation, by far the best Alien experience it's gonna feel shallow. Fireteam Elite as games go is kinda mid VR makes it amazing in comparison.

Hey dude!! This is insane... I see this first time in my life. Awesome stuff.. How detailed it is, I thought for a moment at the beginning that this was the new alien game in VR, finally shown in some gameplay. Because so far I've only seen the trailer, which showed a little bit of what it would look like. As for the Alien Firearm game, the rear view perspective didn't suit me. I know that this is a typical game, what would you call Arcade? You know, tons of enemies, you set up towers, traps, repel the attack, load ammunition from the box and move on. Damn, I'm dreaming of a new shooter in the alien universe, but it wouldn't be broken like Alien: Colonial Marines. This game looks good in the VR-modified version.

4:30 Great question. Here's the answer. It's all about PH. Steel has a PH between 5 and 12 which is a BASE at 7 and above will naturally cancel out acid. That is a very simplistic way putting it but it is accurate.

Good idea. These mods are kinda complicated and can be pretty clunky to use. Ease yourself into VR by playing games with comfort options and quality of life settings. Best games I can think of are Blade and Sorcery for melee combat, Pavlov for FPS multiplayer, and Half Life Alyx for an amazingly beautiful and intuitive VR experience. (I was so blown away by the fact that liquid in bottles actually tilt and splash around!)

4:48 the acid burns the metal away because of the checimal reaction, that reaction causes the metal and acid to combine and form a new element. Each interaction reduces the original amount of acid and metal. So the acid will stop after a time. Emptying out a whole alien might actually be enough to burn through the hull 😉

I’ve messed around with the UEVR injector, it was pretty straightforward to get running. My only issue was the nausea I got shortly into a session. I don’t do so well with slide movement. If I spend a lot of time in VR over a couple months I get really solid VR legs, but soon as I give it a break I go right back to baseline.

I had this issue. I was playing Population One and other shooters with a lot of movement on all directions but had to sell my Quest 2. Picked up a Quest 3 recently so it's been about a year. Decided I'd jump straight back into contractors and gun raiders while I waited for other things to download. I didn't have a good time thanks to nausea after forgetting I would need to get used to it again 😂

Yeah UEVR definitely needs a way to to search for profiles inside the app. I'm a professional and as tech savvy as they come, but setting up UEVR is REALLY annoying and trying to find profiles through discord is just silly.

Acid does run out of potency, acids work by donating hydrogen atoms to substances thereby balancing their ph, after the acid acts long enough it will either no longer have any left to donate or the objects it interacts with will be balanced and no longer take.

Eventually, the material the acid is dissolving "dilutes" the acid and it loses its potency, so to speak. Acid doesn't just dissolve things, endlessly. It becomes neutralised by whatever it's dissolving.
