Does anyone know about dealer markup? Right now I am slated to go to Europe for the next 6 months so I am thinking of a November time frame to order one. Personally, I wouldn't even consider the carbon fiber package as mine will NOT be a garage queen. Manual, most likely Brooklyn gray with Cognac seats because I live in Florida and it's always hot, much better for the interior.

The design of this car reminds me of E30 M. More sheer, taut, and boxy design philosophy. The rear quarter panel reminds me of a mz3 coupe which is a glorious looking rear fender like the 993 turbo rear fenders. I am looking to purchase a last year model in a manual right before everything turns into hybrid and electric. Rubbery feeling manual with S58 engine last ICED car would be an instant future classic.

Have to be careful though, that may be the LCI. And if you find out LCI is adding a hybrid component, you may be SOL trying to get one before its too late because a lot of folks may have the same idea. That's why I'm on the order list now fully expecting an allocation for next year. Just to be safe.

I was interested in buying one until my local dealer said I would have to pay $10,000 additional market adjustment! The car was $67k so after the add on with tax etc it’s about $80,000. That’s very high in my opinion. The M2 ends up just another performance car for wealthy enthusiasts with money to burn!

There are plenty of dealers selling for MSRP. You just have to look around and get on their waiting list. If you want one now then yes, expect to pay a premium. The waiting lists started a year ago.

I dare say this design will appeal to certain people, I'm not one of them had the chance to buy one but went for a different M . The bucket seats I have sat in and found pretty usless for a dailey all that happens is it makes it difficult to get in and out plus you backside slides over the edges so this will rub on the material there. I dare say they will be awsome for track use though. But the cost for this car in the UK specced up is pretty crazy. The base model with manual gearshift and no extras is £64.745. once you start uping the spec this car up it's close on £74k.

I just traded my F87 M2. Best car I've ever owned. Had a great factory-installed M Performance Exhaust Package The new M2, probably the last manual transmission BMW that will ever be produced, is high up on my shopping list. Looks great in Zandvoort Blue. The problem is it's now over 3800 lbs. A jelly belly!

M performance height adjustable springs are great as well. Competitively priced and a nice option for those who want to lower the car without spending big money, voiding warranty or losing the adaptive suspension. Although companies sell aftermarket coil overs that keep the adaptive suspension but will void warranty.

The "stock" car design is sharp. Color is not for me. The "customized" car that would go on a "track to go to town" would be probably more racer oriented with the 8 speed automatic because it would shift faster. However, I agree that a 6 speed is WAY more fun. Drove an M5 a lot of years back(manual) and I had a hard time wanting to end my commute to work. lol Wanted to keep driving. Sometimes I would run it out on the freeway for longer drive routes. They are SO much fun.(1 of the cars I wish I never let go of)

In my opinion this is about the dumbest and tackiest thing you can do. You can load it up with all the M performance parts in the world and it'll be just as fast as an M model with zero M performance parts. But hey at least it's still an M car. My neighbour has a BMW 320i loaded with M-performance parts 🤣 The money you spend on the M performance parts could have easily been used on aftermarket parts that actually increase the performance like a beter free flowing exhaust, intake, tune etc.

Interior design/style looks like a passing fad and I doubt will age well. The exterior is okay without the garish color scheme. The interior tablet displays are just junk and are truly not part of any 'ultimate driving machine' philosophy. But then BMW ditched that mantra a long time ago. This car seems to be more of a fast 'smart phone on wheels' than an aspirational drivers car. Mechanically attractive, unimpressive styling, ergonomic mediocrity, solid "C" grade for this BMW M-series. Next.

This is waay too much american taylored for my taste. Not a fan of the muscle bulge on a bimmer and the bumper gives me too much mustang vibes with that 90° drop. But atleast it at 3/4 @ 9:26 the lights looks very similar to the CLA. Maybe with the right kit it might get a similar look and after replacing the sideskirts with something more modest it might actually look fantastic. But all in all, as long as the competition version is below 1650 Kg I would still call it a dream bimmer, thanks to the s58.
