I have to commend you, Daniel, for the way you handled the situation when Houston got his boat stranded across the creek. I see alot of parents these days wanting to solve too many of their kids problems and not making them do it for themselves. You handled that perfectly, you made sure he had the life jacket on, stood by to watch and be there if he would have gotten into trouble, and gave him the support to fix the situation himself. Alot of parents need to watch this. We are raising a generation of spoiled brats who are not prepared for rhe real world when they make 18 and its a shame.

The love for one another and their devotion of faith have now got me binge watching their videos. You are correct in your comments about dad's handling of the boat rescue. Perfect handling of allowing Houston to get himself out of a potentially bad dilemma. He was always with his ladies and goats and a bull we had and he became extremely protective over them all and we came to realise our mistake was we never separated him out every now and again and he became dangerous. Then when my son who was 16 sid attacked him full on my son managed to fight him off but we had to get rid of him because he became to dangerous. I am a retired Dog and horse trainer. Any time you train to lead try not doing face to face pulling on the lead. Just turn and walk away slowly. If you face and pull it appears to be an attack so you get fight instead of follow. I always put a small amount of pressure on the lead with my back turned so they do not take it as an attack. As soon as the pressure is released take another step.as soon as Steve gets the Idea what you want with out thinking you are attacking him he will learn to lead and reward is always helpful in the beginning. Just take it slow, once Steve learns tie your Jenny to him let him teach her to lead. The key with any animal is the younger they learn the better. Never pull on them just a slow walk without eye contact even an old dog can learn to walk on a leash.

We are so so blessed...I have a Brain Injury from age 23 a passenger when Tractor Trailer lost control and never stopped....it isn't about my plan..It's about how to do the best with boundaries & limitations He has permitted into our lives. All the "THINGS" ...are they distractions? Teachers of temporal? A brain injury permanently alters income options. Hardship is a gift God permits to allow us to be refined to resemble him. When you thank him in the hard times & humble yourself when the limitations imposed were never your fault..impurities are dealt with & character is built on Him. Forgiveness & joy....Thankfulness.... choosing His forgiveness ..has made all the difference. Rom 5 Tribulation builds perseverance & perseverance proven character & hope & hope won't disappoint you hope won't bring you low for the love of God is poured out upon our hearts by the Holy Spirit given unto us.

@@freedomisnotfree9129 That's profound wisdom. I thought I had been put to test all these years , but , I see you have more courage than me. I totally agree with you. Life is all about how Holy Spirit can give a boost to our spirit every day , that makes us handle each day in Jesus way.

When you feed a horse, donkey or cow, hold your hand flat with the treat on your palm. They can feel it and pick it up better and you won't get your fingers nipped.

Did someone get there fingers nipped? I would think the whole family knows how to feed their own animals that they’ve done for years
@Bojangles64 жыл бұрын
@@mullinslj2844 they hadn't had the donkeys for very long when this video was posted. Did you watch them struggle for to give treats? Is there a better way to give treats than I recommended? I've been doing it 34 years and have yet to get but or have a problem. I was taught to do it that way by people who know a helluva lot more than me about animals.

@@Bojangles6 I haven’t seen anyone in the family get nipped while feeding them snacks. DJ was checking to see what other treats Steve likes. She has had no issues with hand feeding him. Steve was not interested in some of the treats & that’s why he didn’t want them. Hand feeding a donkey who is used to receiving treats from strangers is fine. As with horses, place the item on your flat palm, and keep your fingers out of the way.

People are always so ready to get nasty. If they had any sense they would have read your comment and simply seen you were giving a good honest and experienced tip.

We all make mistakes; that is how we learn. I’m guessing that Houston realized he made a mistake and that is a good thing. He is such a sweet boy. I really hope your boat controller dries out and works again!
