I bought the e500 on a bet they will be expanding on a regular basis. But a year after, the fact we only got another tube preamp (which really sound like the fist one), and still no octaver that was preset during beta, is quite freaking. My fear is that the product is not selling enough, that Darkglass would not put any effort on developing the platform and concentrate on new products. As for you, I still enjoy my e500, and still try to fit in my playing (with all the glitches you mentioned about output level when changing presets), but I also try to keep track of my favorite sounds with discrete pedal, just in case… and that bugs me a lot. Cheers, you samples were epic! 🤘🏻🤩

Yeah I get that! The state of the amp is pretty unnerving, but I'm hoping that they'll eventually pull what Helix did and fix a ton of problems and performance in one go. The roadmap would really help sell this amp, but then again it could also lead into a situation like with the Quad Cortex and I bet that's what the people at Darkglass are afraid of. Digital developement times can really be unstable sometimes.

love the "exponent" song. You put a ton of work into this content. Congrats. I waited on buying this amp, as I wasn't sure how well it would be supported, and if truly a midi footswitch was going to be made. 1 yr later, the amp is still a work in progress with "a lot" of untapped potential. The concept is very appealing, but the limited processing power and even more limited output power. I'm still waiting.

Hahah, thank you! I'm also a still waiting on a few expansions to the Exponent, but for me if the octaver is great it takes away a lot of the other shortcomings of the amp right now. I'd still want to have the phaser, but the octaver makes this amp worth it to me.

Hi! 1st - I really love your reviews, nicely made and I feel like I'm getting honest opinion. 2nd - I have a question, I couldn't find answer elsewhere - does this amp include some sort of pitch shifting effect, something like Digitech The Drop?

Thank you for the love 💜 The e500 doesn't offer a pitch shifting option like the Drop, but I'd also approach pitch shifting on bass with caution. I have the Drop and I've used it in some short clips here and there but it doesn't seem to behave too well with some basses and I haven't been able to find a consistent way to make it work. Usually I just tune down 😄

Oh yeah! I remember buying a B7K just when the Ultras with cabsim came out, oh boy 😂Luckily it doesn't seem like the Exponent should ever be replaced - just upgrade the firmware and you're good to go.

Yes, it's a bit tricky but you can affect any effect button to one of the 5 quick-pots, which are controllable with Midi.
