Thanks for demonstrating the input headroom! This has more input headroom than a tube amp this dirty would have, which makes a lot of sense in a solid-state, analog circuit.

Ive been looking at a solid state head for ages. These are perfect. I think it has so many applications. Light weight and compact. 60 watts is plenty loud these days. Great for peddles. Great for modellers. Use it on its own with Di to FOH or use it with a small cab for some stage volume PLUS Di. Small practice head with headphones. The list goes on. The sound is perfectly fine. To be honest these days gear sound is on the good side of great rather than not great. I personally would go for the dualtop that has 2 switchable channels.

As always some really great playing and a great demo, I did think that you got some fantastic sounds out of the amp and also think it really looks great however can’t get away from not offering an EQ on the clean channel that’s a big miss and also will say I question some of the heavier tones and if that was more the pedals / effects or the amp really driving it. Either way it did work with that set up and sounded sweet

You can buy virtually the same head in a pedal. You do not get the reverb but you save $100.00 USD and you have the useful dual footswitchs. You can then take your amp on a bus in your gig bag. You could also use it as backup for your tube amp with no need to take up space in the truck if you go as a band.

I like Laney stuff but with Boss releasing the lR2 pedal amp and cabinet in my opinion this pedal may see the demise of amps like this sad but true… it’s just less hassle to stick a pedal in your gig bag and the Boss IR2 is awesome!🙂

Laney have a floor pedal version of this called the Ironheart IRF Loud pedal. 60w can power a speaker cab and has DI outs too. Boss IR2 looks great but cant power a cab. Some people want to send a DI with cab sim to front of house, but use the backline cabs too for onstage volume
