Brooooo, I was literally thinking of this exact thing 2 minutes ago! I used to watch horrible fan dubs of an anime called Mermaid Melody. I love this movie when I was a kid and I also was in that wolf phase it isn’t my favorite wolf movie ever, my actual favorite, one being Bolto. But when you talked about how the moonlight howl party and the howling is basically a metaphor for s@x other for some reason that flew over me when I was a kid and now that I wonder how come I didn’t know that back then. I remember that I the DVD of that movie and it included extras and behind the scenes the directors talked about that it originally was gonna be a darker movie so that probably explains why It had that metaphor in there

Help I was captured by the early 2010s animal obsession I watched this movie over and over again, I looked back at some of my old sketchbooks and it was FULL of WOLVES being in love with each other and touching noses. Then, of course, I found warrior cats and it changed to CATS falling in love and also murdering other cats. I would pretend to be cats and wolves and dogs at school for an embarrasingly long amount of time and whenever people played house I always wanted to be the animal. I really was a product of the times.
