the anime and manga isn't getting the recognition it deserves. One of the best harem series, the mc is likable and actually works hard to gain his harem, anime OP from s1 to s3 is top-notch, the girls don't burst out into a beyblade battle whenever they see keima with a rival, the OSTs are masterpieces, even side characters are really well written. Mangaka doesn't resort to polygamy ending but chooses 1 girl and that one girl is best girl. Masterfully written harem anime, truly a hidden gem.

Glad to see fellow TWGOK fans are still out there spreading the word. This anime was also one of my firsts (Though I started just over a year ago now) and is still by far my favorite harem anime and one of my favorite romance anime in general. What I particularly like about the show compared to harem anime I see coming out nowadays is the fact that it didn't rely on ecchi moments to sell the girls. Made it a much cuter, more comfortable experience overall. Anyways, while there's basically no chance of another season, I'd love to see SOMETHING new from the series. I just need more of this story.

plus if you watch this anime and pay close attention, you can notice that this anime tackles about some problems in the modern world. examples are (ms. nagase talks about keima about being loneley because he plays games all the time, i think this is a long-time problem for teenagers. more time to games = lower social skills = being lonely. mio being "rich" but she isn't, this converts to real life that if our most beloved relative is gone, it's hard to move on to the extent.)

@@ReySchultz121 it definitely feels off. It seems like it's a reconciliation because she was the first girl that was ever hurt by keima. Nonetheless, she is just not suited for him. There are more deserving girls befitted for Keima. To note the fact, she was never the first girl to fall in love with him. It's just so sad how she was chosen out of the blue. Anyways, they don't live for a predetermined destiny. There's still a chance that they won't be together, lol.

Can't forget that this anime literally had 4 studio produced albums as a side thing for the manga. There's the 2B pencils album, where the in universe 4 girl band with the name made 12 songs. Then there are the 2 Kanon albums, and last but not least, they made a cover album, where each female character that appeared in the anime got a song.

TWGOK stood tall among the rest of harem anime simply by making the main characters not self insert but an actual character unlike other mc, while it did have harem route or formula, it doesnt felt shoehorned and Keima genuinely felt like a fresh character, most of the girls are also unique and they dont just act simply based on trope (some might be parody of them, but my point is that the trope itself serve as a plot to progress forward instead of using it as fanservice). Keima went from being forced to help the girls overcome their insecurity or depression simply by being on their side and he plays a character of galge based on thousands of games he played, to helping all of them because he cared about the girls that are being threatened while also being honest to himself whether he realized it or not, one of best character development for a someone who voluntary locked himself in 2d world to actually starts opening up toward reality. Saw all of this one years ago, it's been some time but from what I remember I did enjoy it. But I won't get into the anime itself, rather I'll talk about the music. The best music for the slice of lifes, romances, are ones that blend into the background and don't stand out. This whole series never felt jarring to hear music in a "really? Music now?" type of way. It's fascinating to hear something more in depth without focusing on plot or voices, but for what the pieces are. Nice find

I was always sad they never fully adapted the series into the anime. I would have loved for the entire manga to be given the anime treatment, but I am happy with what we got! This was an incredible series and I was always so happy that we got it ^^
