Yeah he's easily one of the hardest bosses I've had to fight, but the reward for fighting him is so worth it

Monkey Man probably has such heightened senses and supervision that he could follow the conversation in the courtyard with no trouble. A small feat for a buddha and member of the celestial court no doubt.

Why did the conversation between all the women sound AI generated? So odd and disjointed. The dialogue didn't always match up through the whole thing.

Yes, the whole dialog is originally in Chinese and is thick in idioms. As a result, a literal translation doesn't work to well, so you get a bit of word soup to convey a similar message in English.
