Goldstein is a muppet. Blues Villa is about really local fans who understand what it means in the industrial heartland of UK’s second biggest city, not plastic fans who live all over the country. They also have no rivals remotely close. The same can’t be said for London, Manchester, and Liverpool Clubs.

Growing up I was scouted for birmingham city youth, whereas my entire family are die hard villa fans, put it this way I had to leave otherwise get disowned! This rivalry speaks for itself, there is not that many clubs that have so much hatred for each other than villa and blues, when we play each other we have fans running onto the pitch trying to judas the players!! Unlike many derbies, where the fans either don't come from the same city eg Portsmouth Southampton, or the London derbies where the fans are diluted across a massive city, Blues and Villa fans, are totally integrated, living, working and socialising in the same locations. There are few people involved who don't live in the city, and those that are not resident usually have a family link to the teams, no plastic fans are involved. That means the build up to the match starts well before match day and then carries on well after it. The intensity is therefore far greater than in most derbies. Celtic Rangers excluded, because let's face it they are headcases with politico-religious affiliations that don't exist elsewhere in the UK.

For me its the local tean you hate no matter what level the teams are etc. Villa v Blues easily top 3 fiercest rivalries in the UK Listen to Merson on the Debate after the Grealish punch, listen to what Alex Mcleish said about the rivalry after being up in Scotland for the old firm! Look all the incidents that have happened before, after and during the games! Even Villa v West Brom is fiercer derbies than a lot of them out there

As a Villa fan I really don't give a monkeys about Birmingham. We rarely play them and when we do we beat them. A few of them are starting to realise they spend far too much time obsessing about Villa and it would be better to focus instead on their own club. Any Villa fans that gives them any attention needs to get out more. There's no real rivalry as such, they're just annoying neighbours who like annoying neighbours in daily life are best ignored.

Bertie you having a giggle. Remember when Blues first came into Prem , in the Savage , Horsfield days and went undefeated in 3 seasons winning 4 , drawing 2. The passion is huge but i agree Rangers Celtic is number one then the likes of Blues Villa ,Swansea Cardiff , Newcastle Sunderland , Pompey Southampton, are way ahead of Arsenal Spurs or the manc Derby in terms of true bitter rivalry.
