This is the last video from the great NORMAC show. Featuring something very special. The Agxeed Agbot T2, a 160hp Twin track crawler that is completely autonomous.

Your right George, it will be the future of farming . These units will still need to be delivered to the fields. Still not as stylish as the TW or Fastrac. Great footage George 👍🚜🔧

Yeah I don't understand that part. Like it's great once it's in the field but you still have to hang around so once it's finished you can move it. What happens if the next you have to go along the road.. the john deer version is better because you can hop in it and just drive it like s normal tractor
@HughzieTube10 ай бұрын
Type of thing you could have running a cultivator/harrow while you're a few runs ahead with the plough. That way you could be watching it while working in the same field.

I think there's certainly a place for autonomous tractors in the future. Remains to see how far it'll go. But I think the possibilities are endless. Add the technology of an N-sensor and you'll have an autonomous tractor that have actual eyes that can detect certain conditions for whatever task it's set to do.
@SEPK0910 ай бұрын
Same as Airforces around the world all slowly becoming autonomous, farming will be no different, same as electric cars not quite fully there yet but another 50 years everything will be.

Can’t see this ever taking off if I am honest. Maybe places in the world with 1000 acre fields like in North America, but here in the UK I can’t ever see it
@MrThisIsMeToo10 ай бұрын
Not really. This is a 150hp machine. Nobody in NA runs a machine that small for field work. 500hp is the norm. Most field machines here have more counterweights than this machine weighs. It is made for smaller fields like the UK.
@andrewjohn795210 ай бұрын
@@MrThisIsMeToo Tbf I can’t see farmers buying into this concept, regardless of what it saves them. Oh yeah just leave a £500k machine unattended in a field, the crooks of the world will soon have a way to have those nicely recovered from the fields.

I’m not sure it’s the future for tillage etc because that requires a level of human oversight and intuition for ground conditions. Robotics might be a perfect fit for weed control and fertilisation though.

That absolutely is the future of farming. Farmers will still be required. The tractors will just free up time and allow farmers to do other tasks while the autonomous tractors do their thing.

It must be strange having one of these working on the farm with nobody in it or watching it while you sleep, wake up the next morning and the field is complete! I wonder how much fuel it burns while it’s being laboured
@MadhouseGaming10 ай бұрын
my main question regarding this machine is how hard are they to steal, as we know farming equipment is always on the list of thiefs, so as it can run for upto 20 hours a day, and while the owner is asleep, what would happen if somebody tries to steal it with a scanner to over ride the remote, like they do with keyless entry on some modern cars for example?.

We've got a lot of steep land here on our farm and believe me it is steep and to be honest i can name a few people that have had serious accidents or even lost there lives with tractors and machinery that has tipped over or had some kind of mechanical failure or just skidded away on a real steep slopes in our area and to be honest i have been looking into various robotic machines that can swipe off brambles / gorse etc......Mc Connell they've been making one for a few years called Robocut and it's bassically the same as your machine there at the show but a bit smaller with a hedgetrimmer flail head on the front. they are also used on steep motorway banks to keep the vegetation down. it's a safe for the operator way of getting the job done much easier and quicker than using strimmers etc. there's a future for it in those circumstances for sure but i think they're expensive

Wait. So any crop that’s taller than 50” will basically cause the machine to stop? That would limit some activities. Would be interesting to see if they have work around a for unique situations where that may occur. Also, I guess you can’t run any front mount attachments at all since that front “bumper” has all those “required” sensors in it. Sorta stinks that you can’t run front mount attachments.

Don't realy see the reason why you need a vehicle without a person, only to use a person to use the remote... Why not put the person IN the thing... ??!? Autonomous can be a thing, but to realy make it work will take a long time. Tech side of it a kinda cool to see though. But, old school for me all the way. Hear, smell and feel the thing.

It's okay until it makes you redundant and unemployed. I remember as a kid going potato picking. It was soon a thing of the past once machines took over. There won't be any need for machines once we all die from not being able to eat as we'd all be out of work earning nothing and there won't be any unemployment benefit as no one will be working to pay taxes. It's the beginning of the end.
