When I started watching you fish I had all kinds of critique in mind from such large poles, to what looks like very heavy line, to not trimming off the excess line hanging on your hook. It looked like a catfish setup but damn bro, you just schooled me. You just had a better day in Big Bear than I ever had in my life. By the end of the video I was like "take me fishing and show me your tricks"...lol I'm so humbled right now. Hey, I typically fish the south side of the lake and near the damn or against the observatory. I didn't recognize your spot, do you mind my asking where that is? Looks more on the north side maybe a hundred yards or so away from the damn but I'm taking my sons and nephews fishing this week coming up Jan 3-5 (if you are there) and would love to try the spot out unless it's a secret spot? Hope to see you on the lake! Either way, I subscribed to your channel and yea, I read your message how much work you went through to gather the film and I hear you. I have a KZbin channel myself and people don't realize how much time and work it can take.

It's definitely my catfish set up 😂 me and these 2 rods have caught many fish since I started fishing in 2020, the only thing I change when trout fishing is lighter leader 4lb. When you're Ballin on a budget, you make due with what you have lol. Yes, the spot was down from the dam, near red house. I learned everything I know from KZbin videos, so no secret around here😂 Thank you for watching and subscribing!!! If you ever have anything criticism, no matter how harsh, I'm all ears
@PatriotCoinRingsАй бұрын
@@CatchnAvibe Nooo, I would never criticize. As an avid fisherman who does tournaments, I just saw a couple things that caught my eye but like I said, you schooled me, brother! I've never caught so many trout little-lone double hookups more than once at a time...lol I'm just jealous however it is my birthday this weekend and we are going to be in Bigbear for 3 days so I'm definitely going to try and find that spot. Looking at Goole Maps, it looks like you might have been near Rim of the World Drive and Pine Oak Lane just on the North East side of the bouies. Wish me luck and if you find yourself fishing on the 3rd and you see a big bald white guy, say hi...lol I'd love to pick your brain because damn you did good! Correct. I started with corn Powerbait and micetail and switched to strictly Powerbait after I got the first bite. I probably switched too quick, but that day it worked out well. Wait up, you were able to catch fish on mouse tails by just letting them sit there? No action on the lure, just bait n wait? I'm gonna have to hit up big bear someday, I'm heading to malibu for some surf fishing today. Also, do you ever use circle hooks instead of the ones you're using? They're supposed to hook the fish in the corner of the mouth and prevent the fish from gut hooking itself.
@CatchnAvibeАй бұрын
I didn't give the mice tail a chance, I switched out as soon at I got a bite on the powerbait, but when I've used them in the past, I bait and wait. I usually only use circle hooks when I fish. I only started fishing in 2020 and I learned everything I know from videos, and treble hooks is how i learned to fish for trout. I never tried to target trout using the powerbait because I assume that it wouldn't stay on the hook
