It is that deep Eggman was lowballed bc when bowser revived sage could have easily put up another barrier and use her technopathy to bring Eggman another egg mobile and plug himself into another robot

Technopathy was never about it’s offensive capabilities it was more so about what it provided in support of the Eggman Empire itself. Yet again death battles lowballing sonic characters…

Yes, Sage could have theoretically prolonged the fight a bit just so Eggman could die later, but so too could Bowser have pulled out the Dream Stone and said "Swiggity Swooty, dead is Eggman's booty." And won the fight instantly. The animation isn't the full breakdown of abilities and stat comparisons, or most DB animations would be half a second long.

You might’ve missed it but they actually said when taking about how how busted Kamek is that he had abilities that could’ve specifically STOPPED Metal Sonic’s abilities like copying. Also Metal Overlord is iirc canonically below Super Neo and better to control

If you mean the copy, kamek literally has the ability to cancel that ability which is why the copy ability didn’t happen, they said in the ending where kamek had the ability to stop metal sonic copy

The animator explained the back lightning when Eggman got hit was meant as a replacement for blood. I guess for some reason they wanted to tone down the gore for this battle.

Even after consuming the Dream Stone which powers a place where every dream ever dreamt is it's own universe, Mario and Luigi bitch slapped Dreamy Bowser without any specific power ups or abilities. Plumber's cracked. To that end, consider that Mario being a Plumber isnt the low point it is IRL. Pipes in the Mushroom Kingdom are cosmological warpways that traverse between worlds, time, and space. Man may as well be a theoretical physicist.

Metal can copy, But how do you expect him to copy abilities like sorcery Magic and the power of a Grand star? He can stop time yes but that’s mostly due to him having the abilities of the emeralds, if he would be able to copy something Wayyyy beyond his power, Like a Grand star, then he would be invincible, impossible to beat, and sonic did beat due to just being stronger and defeating him before he could adapt

If it makes you feel better about the outcome I’d like to point out that apparently, in the opinion of the dude who made that absolutely fire battle animation, if the fight were just a 1v1 between Metal Sonic and Bowser then he believes Metal would come out the victor. Quite literally Bowser won this primarily because he had very strong backup, while Eggman didn’t have enough stuff in reserve by the end capable of either backing up Metal Sonic or capitalizing on him forcing Bowser to use a Grand Star. As cheesy as “the power of friendship” can sound, in this case it’s actually accurate, as Bowser tends to get beat by Mario, for instance, in situations that are usually 1v1’s or where bowser doesn’t have much support because Mario has spent an entire game knocking bowsers forces out of commission typically, so removing his army from the equation would likely substantially change the outcome. Imo: if Eggman hadn’t recklessly used the Egg Dragoon early he probably could have used it to buy enough time for Sage to fire the death egg laser again to potentially get the win, or at least make the conclusion a much closer thing. At the very least he went out very in character.

If this death battle happened in their oldest seasons, Dr Eggman would've 100% won. Death Battle's research and scaling of fictional characters improved and changed so much that it was part of the reason they re did the Superman vs Goku even though the outcome was still the same.

Metal Overload requires metal sonic to have either the Master Emerald or a mass large enough (namely eggman's battleships) for him to absorb. And since he didn't have either well super is all he gets.

You missed them saying what Kamek could do. Basically, his spells basically could cancel out a LOT of Metal's abilities, enough that it basically would negate the type of threat that Metal would typically bring to battle. ....if Kamek wasn't there, then the closest counter would have been King Boo, and Boo is.... well, let's just say flighty and not reliable, despite how powerful he is.

That’s valid. But Bowser was just inherently more gifted ability wise than Eggman in that fight. Eggman didn’t get prep and came with his base army. With the Dream Stone not even being used in the main fight, it doesn’t really seem like downplay to say Bowser didn’t have all his resources and still was victorious.

@@epicbattleon8259 Mario was able to survive and beat Dreamy Bowser (Aka Bowser with the Dream Stone [it can be used to wish something/someone out of existance]), not to mention that Eggman keeps coming back cus Sonic just won't kill him, at most he leaves him trapped but Eggman can still make something to escape. Bowser keeps coming back cus Mario CAN'T kill him, he's been thrown into a Supernova and into black holes yet he still comes out fine, not to mention that not even light can escape blacks holes. So in order for Bowser to come back from that (which he did), he literally had to move faster than light while already being inside a black hole, and Mario BEATS him
