Hot take for 2020. If you focus on a mixture of commercial and critical success, I would go with Megan thee Stallion. 2021 is Simbi bro its not close. That album is way more dynamic than CMIYGL. the writing is on a higher level. No way

I feel like I’m the only person that prefers future to Kendrick or drake in 2015 becuase like he released a classic album and a classic mixtape and a classic collaboration + another really good tape which honestly all combined I think is better than Kendrick’s TPAB
@john-olivierlukama154816 күн бұрын
I think it can go to anyone of Kendrick, Drake, Future and Travis Scott.

MF DOOM in 2004 is in my opinion the best year for a rapper ever

The fact that they made this video, when we knew it was gonna be Yuno Miles for every year is honestly a crime, how dare you waste our time

man cut it out lol ik the Dababy hate is fun but he had 2019 locked up
@illtyuh833616 күн бұрын
…2019 was easily young thug with so much fun + feature run and 2018 could have juice wrld, 2 MASSIVE singles on top of an album that was EVERYWHERE and changed music

How is Yuno Miles not #1 on these lists? The GOAT in creativity and style! 🐐

I think these guys will love Aesop Rocks - Integrated Tech Solutions. Highly slept on album
@DavidAjibola-z9r16 күн бұрын
Tbh what do you guys find in aesop rock i know he's one of the greatest lyricists ever but he's not accessible
@xenophon219916 күн бұрын
@ agreed, his earlier albums are not, but the last two are definitely way more accessible. What draws my attention is moreso his voice and flow over some nice production versus his deep lyrics

@DavidAjibola-z9r Songs like Supercell and Dorks I find to be very approachable. Try them out if you haven't.

Sadly these guys don't like him.

2020 was Baby’s year when it comes to the rap game. He had it on lock. No one was touching him. I don’t care what anyone says. And yes the last 2-3 years he hasn’t been the same but 2020 was Baby’s year.
@b_e_d_a_16 күн бұрын
not even top 5 that year
@korey.dcoleman16 күн бұрын
I agree, Lil Baby dropped one of the biggest and most streamed album of 2020 with “My Turn” and he had a insane feature run as well, Boldy James and Freddie Gibbs is already not a competition, Lil Baby had a lock in 2020

@@korey.dcoleman it still astounds me the amount of disrespect this man receives. You know the amount of people I know that dislike Lil Baby and hate on him, just because other people on social media said so, and those other people started hating because someone else before them said so. People just love to hop on the hate train because everyone else hopped on it and they’re not left out. Baby is literally one of the most talented and most successful artists of our generation. You still have people like the first douche who commented on this saying “he wasn’t even top 5” .. dude probably thinks Yeat is a god.

Yall made me feel disappointed with not even fkin mentioning MACH-HOMMY for 2017. Mach's 2016 is one of the best runs EVER with so many incredible albums like The G.A.T... that is one of the best jazz rap albums OAT. Sorry but that's his year for suuuure. And not even mentioning him is so disrespectful

Kind of strange to me you guys never speak much on Black Eyed Peas and how huge they were in the 2000s. BEP was big on the level of Drake before Drake. They eventually pivoted more to pop but dude they were massive 2004, 2005, 2009 and 2010.
@TAVROSH15 күн бұрын
its because they were a group, had a white chick rap and sing and generally made forward thinking pop, also no single rapper stood out there, Will.i.am doesnt stand out enough. If you rank individual rap skills, groups often get the short end of the stick, hence no Outkast on this list either (only q tip from Tribe made it on Complex' list)
@doubleznixz15 күн бұрын
Black Eyed Peas are more seen as a pop group rather than a group of rappers despite having majority of the group rap.

Best rapper of 2024 had to be Ice Spice. Inspiring lyrics and a beautiful album in Y2K😭
