Added to my reading list. Indeed, most of us are not MMM, high 6 figure earning types. I'd like to retire by my 50s, so we'll see how this info goes towards that!

I may be one of those people that may never retire at all, and just want breaks in between working and relaxing. So for me to continue working, I was inspired by Joseph Barbara and William Hannah as they enjoyed what they have worked on up until they passed on and thus continued to work on different projects, even if it's the ones they didn't create or created years back.

@@SuperFlashDriver I feel you. I guess I feel a bit tired as I've been working since I was 17. Retiring for me is more of "work part-time because I feel like it," "work when I want," or "dedicate a lot of time into passion projects regardless of how much I make." Though tbh, we don't know how long we'll be alive, so I'd like to do some of the passion work on the side while also doing my money-maker job.

@@seleciaa That's the idea process I have too, but I do know there will be a time and place for myself to enjoy things again, before I go back to working on something to help keep me afloat. It's just that my mindset for work is merely just to see what would help me make some money to buy the things I can enjoy, but my passion would belong to a career that I've always wanted to do since I was 7, but forced to go through the K-1 just to get a high school diploma that only lasts as an authentic official documentation for three years before it expires. Either way, I also started working around the age of 17 in April 2013, but have been in a program that I passionately enjoyed since I was 14 years old in February 2010. For me, it's really the motivation and inspiration that drives me to commit to the work, even if I don't like it. But oh well, different people have different methods of working and retiring, but even if I retire, there's always going to be something brought up that I would personally work on compared to work places (aka "Solo Projects").

This is a great book. I had read the old classic “Your Money or Your Life” (Vicki Robin and Joe Dominguez) prior to ERE, and the two go well together.

Agreed, it's an excellent book for frugal people who want to retire early. The blog too contains a lot of tips and information by Jakob on the same thing. Loved both book and blog!

I read this book many years ago. I am a renaissance man according to the Jacob's rules, I even fix the plumbing by myself. Making money by repeating DIY projects make them less enjoyable. Fixing your bicycle every now and then is fine. Making money by fixing bicycles every day is a mundane job.
