Any video with Justin is worth the watch in my opinion. Especially the observations in the end of the video regarding the parallel aspects of mysteries and dungeons was extremely interesting. However, I have to say I liked the structure of the video with you trying to put the ideas of the book into practice and then discussing pitfalls and waht you learned with Justin. Thanks!

Thanks! We had a few ideas for how to make content together. The original plan was to look at the "How to learn a new TTRPG" section. I was going to try his suggestion to run the Pendragon Starter Set, but in typical TTRPG fashion, I couldn't get my group together in time! Scheduling!

I just bought his book and audiobook because My group just arrived at the town after Wave Echo and the session went horribly. So I am going to recustomize it with your advice. I think I am going to add psy Orcs and another faction of Drow to add more layers.

So glad your doing this! I tried to read the book and it’s miserable. 5e is so hard to read bc of the word count. It’s like someone made a good dish of mash potatoes and then said hey let’s dump a 50lb bag of cement in this they’ll love that. Too much unnecessary crap to digest
@heyitsMattyP7 ай бұрын
I'm bad at digesting these books too, but I think that's why I'm good at making guides, because I'm coming at it from the perspective of a confused and overwhelmed person :)

I just finished LMOP with your suggestions and want to run PaB! Also, I would recommend adding a video or two to your LMOP playlist as the PaB book makes changes to Phandalin quite early. Example: as you make the Spider appear early, she could start the ritual early, so the town would change by chapter 3 and not 5. What do you think?

You're the 3rd KZbinr I'm subscribed to who is mentioning this book in a non-sponsored video... The videos might not be sponsored, but it certainly seems like a deliberate marketing campaign. I won't hold that against the book though since the Alexandrian's reputation precedes it and he's not some huge soulless corporation... I do appreciate actual application of the book to prepare a published adventure though. I have the Lazy DM's Guide and I wish there were more examples of the application of it for a published adventure that everyone can follow along with. I find that running published adventures is much more difficult than a homebrew campaign because published adventures do not always follow the design principles found in all these great 3rd party books. It can sometimes be difficult trying to force the principles into these adventures.
