In a run and jump style game, I get the most fun from fluidly navigating the world, and I don’t like how the 2D Mario games don’t show you enough of the world ahead to facilitate that smoothness without memorization. And I say that as someone who grew up with SMB3. I only started enjoying it once I memorized it.
