The ending cinematic is not in chronological order. The Bull King and Wukong were once sworn brother-in-arms and good friends. They fought together against the Jade Palace but, in the aftermath, Wukong was defeated and sentenced under a mountain for 500 years. He is then freed and departs on the Journey to the West with Tripitaka (his appointed master), Piggy (Zhu Bajie), Sandy, and the White Dragon Horse. Along this journey they encounter a fiery valley and the only way to put it out is with the Bull King's wife's plantain fan. However, many things transgressed since Wukong's 500 year confinement and the Bull King is not willing to hand it over. Wukong and his team are unable to beat the Bull King as he is not only immensely powerful but he keeps regrowing his head. The Heavens do not like this since the Journey to the West is technically a holy mission to receive sacred scriptures. So Wukong recruits the heavenly forces against the Bull King including Nezha who is the boy with the fiery wheels on his feet. Together they defeat him. After the Bull King's defeat, Wukong whispers to the him to find a master and follow the right as he believed this was the only path people like them could follow anymore (Wukong's master is Tripitaka and the "right" is his pilgrimage to the West). However, even though Wukong is granted Buddhahood at the end of the journey, in this story he rejects it to prefer a life on his mountain. But the heavens do not take kindly to this as they see Wukong's rejection of Nirvana insulting. And so they wage war against his mountain. Learning that he will never be truly free, he battles against the heavens once more and loses. That was the opening fight of the video game. This is also when we see him with a slash through his chest in the cinematic. The Bull King holds him as he dies and Wukong mentions that he thought achieving the title of "Victorious Fighting Buddha" would finally make the heavens leave him alone. But he learned that just existing was a transgression for a person like him. The ending cinematic shows all of the final bosses of each chapter. As the heavens recruited the Black Wind Bear, the Yellow Wing Sage, Yellowbrow, the Thousand Eyed Daoist, and the Bull King to help defeat Wukong, each of them were rewarded with one of his relics. However, even though the Bull King sided with the heavens to get his revenge on Wukong, he still mourns the death of his once brother-in-arms.

Just a reminder if you want the true ending, you have to go back to chapter 3 and find the secret cave,which if i recall correctly, is the intersection after the prison. If you take the other way, youll find a cave depicting the paintings of each of the five chapters, and if you did all the requirements, you ahould encounter the baby buddha there who will open them up for you Where you defeat the secret boss, before fighting the final chapter 6 boss

Yaksha King looks like a humanoid version of Odogaron, because their design looks very similar.

Yeah, the Bull King and Sun Wukong used to be pretty buddy buddy against the heavens after they initially fought each other. But this family story is even more tragic here.

The cutscene was stuff before the game. That was diring the journey to the west. Wukong fought Erlang once before. And the 2nd fight is after Journey to the west

I believe the River is a reference to a part of Journey to the West where Tripitaka and Co travel through an empire entirely populated by women, who rely on a nearby river to give birth.

Fun note about the Yaksha King bossfight, if you take him down to just a sliver of his final healthbar and then just not finish him off for a while, you'll eventually get an alternate cutscene where he and the Destined One are trading blows back and forth that ends with him on his knees in defeat with your character holding him down by the neck with your staff before transitioning back into the regular ending we see in the video. Also, the Bisui fight has alternate arenas that can access by having him break open the icy pathway and then going through it. The arena is ice instead of fire, and he'll switch to ice attacks. You can then have him put out a wall of fire that you can then go through to a _Third_ arena made of full lava where he'll switch between fire and ice attacks. There's also an awakened wine worm in the passage after the first Arena. Also, that tower you look at to enter the secret area isn't actually a tower, it's the Bull King's personal staff weapon.

This game really does have some amazing end of chapter animations. They are as beautiful as they are tragic. Also I finally managed to catch up my gameplay to the episode. Hooray! But currently the special secret boss in the new west is now kicking my teeth in so might be a while before I progress again.
