I saw the No More Jockeys Edinburgh live show a few months ago and it was even more insane in person. It was probably 60% silence as they awkwardly stared at each other. Mark sat on a camping chair, Alex on a throne, Tim on a full sized fridge. Tim repeatedly forced an audience member to serve him drinks from inside the fridge, and Mark continually drunk wine from a salt shaker. The show was supposed to be an hour long but lasted 2 and a half hours. Several of my friends genuinely hated it but honestly it was one of the best things I've ever seen.

honestly that sounds amazing, i wish i was there

Starting with the episode that Mark lost his mind probably wasn't wisest. NMJ is generally best viewed in order to follow the inside jokes. Or if you want Alex's equivalent insane episode, watch set 4 game 10. You don't really need to know the people named to watch - it's more about the arguments, songs and sub-games around it really. You'll quickly get to learn a lot about the regularly named people anyways.

There's sooooo many inside jokes.

When you think about it, this is the natural way the game should go. They have played it HUNDREDS of times on and off camera especially during covid lockdown. The culmination of inside jokes and controversial names and categories across every game is what differentiates it from just a normal word game/podcast.

No More Jockeys is very heavy on the inside jokes/ self referencing memes. Its fantastic to watch, but you definitely miss out on a lot of context if you haven't been watching for awhile.
@PlatypusPower89 Жыл бұрын
Maybe you already knew this but it's worth knowing this series (not the actual game mind) was born out of lockdown, which I think explains a lot

I love NMJ anyway, but watching someone who can't possibly understand what's going on lose their mind really adds something to it

No More Jockeys is genuinely my favourite thing in the entire world and you definitely need to start watching from the first episode onwards lmfao

this was 14 minutes of having noe clue whats going on, not understanding half the words spoken and then laughing so much that my head hurts

This was a bizarre point to start, nearly the end of the entire KZbin series! Set 2 or 3 are the sweet spots for coming to NMJ I think, or late set 1. (But if you enjoy it then it's worth watching from the beginning to see how it evolved and how they arrived at the current rules.)

I've never laughed so much at something I don't understand, a lot of that was also laughing at Stanz laughing because he didn't understand either. All in all a lot of laughing and not understanding all around. But I did know Morph.

Lmao, this was an unhinged episode of NMJ. There are more coherent ones but a lot are certainly off kilter. Would love to see you react to another!

I didn't know you were a big Taskmaster fan. Funny, when I first heard about Offbrand, my immediate thought was that a Taskmaster-style series featuring streamers and content creators could be a huge hit (the original already translates naturally to and performs well on KZbin). Maybe some day we'll get to see you guys make that a reality.

Can't believe Stanz has never played this game. Used to play it all the time in highschool but we called it no more women
@Sackinima Жыл бұрын
That's what these guys used to call it years ago as well. They had a tv show called "We Need Answers" (Which we should get Stanz to watch!) and would play it behind the scenes and then many many years later decided to create a show out of it during lockdown.

I was very surprised to see Stanz reacting to it. It's one of Alex Horne's side projects, so I'd guess most people who watch it are huge fans of Taskmaster/The Horne Section. The channel only has 42k subscribers.
